Cores that require BIOS: (need to be the right file, with the right name, at the right place)
PCSX - Location retroarch/cores/system

  • scph5500.bin (MD5 sum: 8dd7d5296a650fac7319bce665a6a53c)
  • scph5501.bin (MD5 sum: 490f666e1afb15b7362b406ed1cea246)
  • scph5502.bin (MD5 sum: 32736f17079d0b2b7024407c39bd3050)
(Disc switching is supported (Quick Menu>Core Disc Options> Disc Index))

@Slasher115 I wanted to attach this post in hopes that it may help with gamers that can't seem to match up that missing .bin that isn't included in the BIOS pack .zip file. A lot of people on other forums have mentioned to just rename any of the BIOS to the name of the one that is missing but after checking the MD5 on all of the BIOS files I found the matching md5 for these specific ones. I hope it helps!

I am also getting the same error on my end:
RetroArch [INFO] :: null: [sdmc:/retroarch/content_history lpl].
RetroArch
:: cannot push NULL or empty core info into the playlist.

Along with another issue that isn't so much an error but an alert that I have noticed as well:
RetroArch [INFO] :: Environ SAVE_DIRECTORY: "ssmc:/retroarch/cores/savefiles".
config_path is : sdmc:/Roms/gba/game_config.txt
game config missing

Despite having those two messages come up on my bottom screen, I am still able to boot gpSP v0.91 and play Minish Cap as well on my setup..
It may possibly be something on your end though because I am not booting the .cia I am booting the .3dsx since I am booting through Homebrew.
Check your BIOS I did an internet search for GBA Bios and came across one on the internet. It may possibly be the BIOS and/or Rom.

update:
Check the ROM because if other GBA Roms are running fine with your current BIOS. It may have possibly been a bad dump or the ROM itself may be corrupt somehow.

Figured it out. I shortened the name of the ROM (just a random idea based on problems with old software way back when) and it worked. Either gpSP has troubles with long names (which CitrAGB is a port of as well) or it had a character it didn't like.

Super-quick thoughts on recent additions:

-So far, I'm liking how DOSBox is running so far. It's at least loaded up most of the DOS games I've tried so far. Some games I've tried report 59 fps, although in-game action is running at less than half the reported speed (OMF 2097, for example). I haven't tried messing around with the clock functions, which I suspect would help a bit. Once keyboard is implemented, it's nothing but Oregon Trail for me :D

-Patch loading for the SNES cores? YES YES YES. A godsend for those who like to keep their ROMS pure, haha. I've tried IPS patches for F-zero, MKII, and Mega Man X3, and all work as expected. MMX3 Zero Project doesn't load past the Capcom logo in PocketSNES, but otherwise works fine in both CatSFC cores.

How is the dosbox core running on o3DS? Has anyone tested it?

DOSBox currently doesn't load on O3DS (just confirmed on my 10.3 2DS). I think the logistics of why are still being looked at, last I read in the "Windows 95 on 3DS" thread, what with Windows 95 on 3DS being possible through the DOSBox core.

Just tested for the first time a few .cia builds on 3DS and, well... wow

Gambatte and full speed (Well, this was almost achieved las time i tested the 3dsx version)
Picodrive at full speed
PocketSNES at PAL Speed

Here hoping PocketSNES gets eventually ironed. Dammit i'm extatic right now.

Downgraded my N3DS XL to 9.2 and played around with the .cia builds, the PSX core from Jan. 3rd runs almost at full speed! (The nightly from the 4th doesn't run launch for some reason)

Could you please check Parasite Eve, if possible? On 10.3 i got around 20fps on my n3DS. I'm a bit affraid to downgrade now, and i borrowed my console :(

I'm getting 36-55FPS with 0 frameskip. If anyone wants, I can test other PSX games on both O3DS and N3DS as well as either .cia or .3dsx builds.

Any way to stop the glitch at the top of the screen in gpsp? Or anyone have a CIA build of it without that error?

This glitch wasn't present until some point in December, but I can't find CIA builds from before then.

Edit: Found it: https://www.mediafire.com/?kd6018bt108dd4l
I've been using the December 25th build and haven't had any issues like that. I have it unscaled and filtering off, don't know if that would make a difference.

Anybody know whats the last time psx cia worked properly with loading up and not having the no core issue, i tried builds from dec23-jan4th and it just errors out to home menu

There's some on page 92 that may work or there may be more if you want to look through the pages. Dunno if links are still working though
