has anyone hard bricked the console with the latest version of sysupdater?

Just thought I'd report that I carefully did the above steps with a 10.3U O3DS using the Julian20 SysUpdater linked to on page 95 of this thread, and downgraded to 9.2 successfully on the first try. Yay!
Installed Cakes and FBI. Installing a cia to test as we speak, but everything is still running great. Next up is getting an emunand on this thing.

Is Cakes the way to go? What are the advantages of Cakes or rxtools?

Just to clarify - people who had been getting "An error has occurred" can just format their 3DS and after that the downgrade will work? If so, is there a way to extract multiple save files at once? I don't want to lose my progress.

Could someone write a tutorial for people who get the error? :shy:

Can anyone answer please? I'm asking for o3DS btw

I just like Cakes. rxtools is awesome too. I can say that there was not a single hiccup installing Cakes though. BTW... the cia installed and ran perfectly!

Hey guys, any suggestions would be very appreciated! I'm running sysUpdater via menuhax (when I tried via browserhax, sysUpdater didn't respond to any button commands), and it finishes the CIA install process, but seems to freeze at the reboot message. I have to manually power it off, and when I boot I get the nintendo error screen and have to recover to the latest firmware and restart the process. I've done it several times with the same result, any suggestions or anyone else encounter this and find a way around it?

Lemme guess, you're on N3DSXL US, using the 9.2 full U package from that iso site? Seems to be a problem with that particular combo of stuff.

After 11 fucking hours of setting this up, I finally got it to start downgrading.
Wish me luck.

It worked. Sorry for the shitposts.

Sorry, should have specified. O3DS US, using 9.2 Full U package (confirmed MD5). Trying again for the last time tonight right now via menuhax.

Woo. Hard bricked my O3DSXL-U!

Not mad since I took the risk of it, just adding my information to the pool for anyone still trying to do this before anything stable was released.

I downgraded a 2DS 9.9 back to 9.2.
However, I noticed strange error message said that a CIA file in 9.2 source cannot be installed that hang my 2DS.
After waited 10 minutes, I manually restarted it and suddenly it said I have 9.2.
Both rxtools and gateway work flawlessly after that but I am afraid I could have messed up something deep inside.

I feel so great actually downgrading flawlessly! I followed the video tutorial in the first post (while being extra careful with checksums and making sure not one byte was lost during file copying) and had no problems at all. SysUpdater booted first try with no FTP/B tricks and it rebooted to 9.2 without any need for manual help on my 10.3.0 U O3DS using menuhax and whatever Smea's latest launcher is. Hope the rest of you can have the same results I did. :)

So now that I'm on 9.2, I need to use browserhax to gain back my menuhax, and that involves...the slider. Looking forward to fighting with that thing again...
Also, do I need to change all my hax payloads to their older counterparts or will menuhax 2.1 and the latest boot.3dsx from Smea still work?

I've tried to downgrade from 10.3.0U on an original 3DSXL to 9.2 four times now. Every time I just end up getting a black error screen and have to recover back to 10.3.0. I've tried formatting my SD card and starting clean twice (checking the MD5 as well). I don't want to attempt an entire system format because I read that I would lose my digital games and saves.

Is there anything else than I can try? :(

Use this site to upload your CIA pack. Your MD5 hash should be: 879f437d7c78f09ae565f79f5aa9c421 (given you tried to downgrade to 9.2)

This will help you determine whether or not you used the wrong packs.

That sucks. Mine went through flawlessly without any issues. You probably either used the wrong files or messed up somewhere
I didn't mess up with the files, I just was too persistent with it. I got lucky and soft-bricked about 10 times until I finally got an error halfway through the downgrade that messed up everything.

I checked my hash before even trying the first time.
