Nevermind, it referneces a file that doesn't exist. I tried searching for it too and it's not there.

zlib is not part of it, It's a library google it

Honestly, besides Ironhax (which seems to have the highest fail rate in downgrading), I don't think it matters. Also, no, there's no extra steps for an EU N3DS. Only JP models.

Hey everyone, got a problem, mind if I ask?
The downgrade seem to be finished, it did reboot after 10 seconds (After the msg). However, I got the black screen and the "Error turn off the console" screen.

Thought it was Menuhax, but removed the sd and turned on, same error. Then removed the sd mid-turning on but still got the error screen. I do not understand why. I still can enter to recovery mode though. Is my 3ds downgraded? Is there something should I do?

Using latest Julian sysUpdt, on O3DS 10.3U

go to recovery mode, update to 10.3 and try again. =/

Been around 7 hours trying to downgrade my O3dsXL. No luck and around 25+ soft bricks. Tried reformatting and everything and using 9.0 and 9.2 with different sysUpdaters
Guess i'll wait for something

New 10.3 to 9.2E, worked ok until I put starter pack, FBI, Pasta and Emunand9 on sd card. Now only blue light shows up
What to do now?

Can someone confirm there is no risk to hard brick the 3ds? Only soft brick?
I have an old 3ds 10.3 and I don't want to lose it forever

I believe this would depend on how many entrypoints get patched.

After I downgraded my 3ds I can't go into the system settings. It's stuck on the 3ds logo (It is still moving).

Holy sh** it worked!! No bricks/semi-bricks for me
3ds: N3ds XL 10.3
homebrew version: smea launcher
tries: about 15-20
Launched Hbl by: Browser hax (Menuhax was giving me problems so I tried browser hax, and it worked second time)
downgrade to: N3ds 9.2 U
I also did a full system format before doing this to make sure It worked.,
I used sysUpdate

Never give up.

I managed to get browserhax running again, by switching back to auto-DNS

Actually I may have had a brainfart moment, you didn't need to format, simply changing theme would've worked

It's all good. I'm up and running anyhow. Now I'm on 9.2 and not really sure what I downgraded for lol.

Noticed something.... While using the last Julian "safe" SysUpdate (Page 95), I don't get the opening message that says "AMR11 Kernel exploit" and the sub-sequent number (#1...) loading -wich aparently does appear in the other SysUpdate-. Is that how it should be?

Or should I reboot until said message appears?. Thanks for the help guys, you really are a blessing on this situation
