He wanted a way where he didn't have to inject FBI into H&S
Ah, okay, understood. Well, install it first on SysNAND before creating the EmuNAND then. I see H&S injection as the cleaner solution, though (if it is done by the tools I named before).

That'll get it erased in the format :P anyways, yeah H&S is cleaner... also Self promotion much? :3 lol jk

Haha, sorry :). I didn't want to name the one alternative that I know of that can do it as well (but possibly somewhat unsafe).

Good day. I was hoping I can use this on my o3DS with firmware 2.1.0-3J with Internet Browser 1.7412 to backup my NAND 'cause it says <=9.2. I use the Launcher.dat and EmuNAND9Tool.nds on DS Flashcart with no avail. It just freezes with black screen with colored pixel dots on below screen. Yeah I know Gateway launcher needs 4.x firmware. Thanks d0k3 for this nice tool. Gonna test this to my other CFW o3DS firmware 8.1U.

We really should stop saying that just <=9.2 is the only requirement... The real requirement is >= 4.1 but <=9.2 you'll need to update your console with a game to 4.x then install this with your flashcart and use the emuNAND9tool.dat and nds ( not launcher.dat) to use this

This is pretty awesome.

I do have a question:
Forever ago you had to use gateway to Dump the sysnand because rxtools one couldn't be used fix a bricked 3ds. Does this fix that issue? If I brick my 3ds, can I use my nabd backup from this tool to fix it?

This is long fixed (in Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9Tool, which never had this issue). Also, the rxTools dump were too small, which could still be fixed by just appending some padding to the file. So, no need to worry, it is fine.

This is all emuNAND based... So if you use Decrypt9 to back it up then yes ;)

The SysNAND backup from EmuNAND9Tool is fine, too. EmuNAND9Tool just doesn't give you the possibility to inject it back. EmuNAND9Tools target audience is much bigger than that of Decrypt9, and I'm not including SysNAND restore on purpose, so that noobs don't wreck their SysNANDs and come back crying ;).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

RxTools is stupid, use the superior tools... Decrypt9 and EmuNAND9Tool. :D

Should totally just call it EmuNAND9 tbh... :)
I agree. EmuNAND9Tool is a little too long. Won't cause any confusion, too, cause EmuNAND9 is still similar enough to EmuNAND9Tool. I'll see about renaming it.

Both CakeHax method and Spider Hack method cannot boot 4.5.0-10J.
CakeHax method (Emunand9tool.dat) repeated black screen.
Spider Hack method (Launcher.dat) repeated Browser error.

HBL booting on 9.2.0-20J works fine.
But since O3DS has two NAND sizes - 943MB and 954MB, I need to find a same NAND size 9.2.0-20J to inject the emuNAND using on that 4.5.0-10J 3DS.

To be honest, I have never used the CakeHax and Spider entrypoints. They should work reliably, though, from what I've heard from users.

I'm not entirely sure I've got that right... you don't get EmuNAND9Tool to run on one O3DS, so you now want to inject emuNAND.bin from another O3DS, correct? The problem here is, you also need a valid SysNAND dump from the non working O3DS, you can't just take one from the other one. So, you need to sort the problem with the access point out.

The NAND size difference isn't between system versions, there's two different NAND chips that they used in the 3ds, one has a constant 943 MB and the other has a constant 954 MB, regardless of system version

Tbh I've always wondered why you don't just use the cakehax version for the spider entrypoint, since cakehax works from MSET and spider...

Legacy reasons. The GW 4.x browser hack was in there long before there was a CakeHax version. I could also use CakeBrah as 3DSX entry point, but, well, since BrahmaLoader was there before CakeHax, and more specifically because BrahmaLoader is tried and tested for Decrypt9 / EmuNAND9Tool (and to some extent, because BrahmaLoader is my fork of Brahma :)), it stays.

By the way, can anyone confirm the spider and mset entrypoints work as they should?

I'm running this through skater and menuhax HBL, but from neither I'm able to dump my sysNAND.
It outputs:
Code:
EmuNAND not found on SD card
Dump SysNAND to NAND.bin: failed!
Press B to return, START to reboot.
