The red X appeared after I:

• Turned off Standby Functions
• Turned off Automatic Software Downloads
• Deleted all connections
• Reentered mine using manual configuration (both Primary and Secondary DNS is the Tubehax one)

Finally! I feel a lot safer now!

Sorry to mislead you on the whole "Manual configuration" for your internet connection. That's not necessary at all. You can do everything automatic, just enter the DNS before saving the connection. There's no point in manual configuration
I was just extra cautious about it and wasn't thinking in the past. It does not let you continue on until you click save.

This whole thread is just a way for SonyUSA that is no dev on any team to get attention and steal credit from Hykem. Dude(SonyUSA) will respond with no just wanted to help(cause confusion). Why do you not see one post from Hykem on here, not one. But he steadily has posted in the original thread where he(SonyUSA) got his info from. I believe because Hykem does not agree with the thread in general. And knows better than to start a whole thread on this before its released which only gets a bunch of idiots worked up. That start asking and answering questions that no one but Hykem and the people working with him on this can honestly answer.

Well I find this thread to be very helpful. I at no point thought that SonyUSA was making the exploit, it was very clearly Hykem's. And as the other thread is not just about this exploit it can be hard to find the info you are looking for there. For these reasons I find that this thread adds value.

Wow, atleast the waiting will have an end... since updating the games with a spoofed FW is a pain in the ass, i was so near to do the full update from my spoofed 5.5 to original 5.5....

now i will wait again

Just wanted to say thank you first and apologize if this question has already been answered in another thread. I have a Wii U 5.5.0 and was able to download Homebrew into it. However, per the instructions in the D2x CIOS I should've been able to use v10 beta something at 56/249. That option was not available. So I did not complete that step.

All I WANT is to put emulators to play NES,SNES,GB, etc. Do I need to complete that D2X CIOS step? or can I just place the emulators on a SD? Or should I just wait for Hykem's exploit?

You're talking about the vWii on the Wii-U, you should start a new thread about that as this is completely unrelated.

*except, sorry for correcting grammar but that was actually really confusing because I thought you were trying to tell him that vWii couldn't be modded on 5.5.0 (which isn't the case)

Sorry Guys, let me be more clear. I downloaded homebrew in the Wii Menu (vWii I believe) on my Wii U using a WUJBT.exe. Now, at this point, everything on my Wii U still works including internet, eShop, etc.

However, the next step was to use D2X CIOS and choose the V10 beta53_alt-vWii and that option was not on there. (Only V6). So I left it alone in fear of messing up the console.

Like I said, All I want is emulators for my kid to play NES, Genesis, SNES, etc.

you need to understand a simple thing, this exploit is for wiiu menu, vwii is basicaly a wii so this exploit inst for vwii and has no changes at all.

Thank you. It's hard to find any answers on other forums because of the fact that I have 5.5.0 and most thread's last post was a year ago. LoL

I'll mess around with some stuff and see If I can get these emulators loaded.

Sorry for being "that guy", but would it be alright to update my 5.4.0 to 5.5.0 or do you guys recommend I keep 5.4.0 for kernel/other reasons?

I recommend updating, since the exploit works on the latest firmware as well.
