THIS IS CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT!!!

Now i know there will be some comments being like "lol batch? dats lke wt 2 yr ols use B) B) B)" BUT! Here a few reasons why its in batch.

1. Because its simple for me to code and its simple for people who wanna make a mod or something like that.

2. It will be easy to understand when you look at the code

3. It will be fun and creative to see how people will use just text!

Now what i OpenText?

Well its a text-based operating system thats programmed in batch. OpenText is also open source and welcomes mods (you can add mods by adding the code to the OpenText code) and fallout mods! (these are its own .bat file and must have TONS of features.)

I want to help!

If you want to help with the official OpenText versions well you can suggest ideas or make a mod thats good enough and has alot of sight then you can ask for it to be on it. (We can also ask you to put it in.

Can i get it?

Well currently the status is!... : NOT RELEASED DUE TO DEVELOPMENT.
So i guess not! Sorry, Well i hope you will be happy when its released!

So what do you think?

... is this a joke
*facepalm* *says sarcasticly* Yep tooooootaly is... NEXT THING WE FUCKING NEED IS VINSCOOL SAYING "No."!!! Hes gonna say it isn't he.

No this is a project im working on. If you don't like the idea maybe go easy. like
"I don't like the idea, here are some reason and heres a list of suggestion for this project." not "is dis a juke??????? u so stupid u dum"

Sorry...But still. Just try not to be rude.

I don't like the idea, because it's fucking stupid and I suggest you don't even bother.
Wow...Great feedback...ITS THE FUCKING SAME AS THE FUCKING COMMENT SECTION ON YOUTUBE!

I mean give out GOOD feedback and good critisisem.

Okay, fine.
You could try coding an operating system in a language that isn't Batch. Batch is not intended for operating system coding but rather automation scripts. Programming isn't that difficult to learn, however I suggest if you're a beginner for your first major project to not be an operating system.
Well the main purpose of OpenText is for people to be able to use batch in unique and creative ways by surpassing hard ways! Plus batch can be learned by tons of people who never even put in a command like print or something like that. Its also able to be easily read of what it can do.

Probably the best way to put it is "scripting languages are not good programming languages for making OSes, and while it can be done, it can be very difficult."

I do too, but this will definitely be difficult since Batch isn't the best programming language for writing OSes.

You have to admit that this is kind of silly. We have Windows, and Linux, and Macintosh for Grandma. Why do we need a text OS? That's what we upgraded from, to graphic based OS.
Well because it will be fun to see what we can do with text.

You want some good Critisism?

  1. Don't Make an Announcement Post when there is very little or no work on the project, or even any proof of it available. Even just a PoC would be nice.
  2. Stop Making Projects if you don't have plans to finish them. People get annoyed when you make a new thread announcing something when you don't have anything to release. This ties in with Point 1.
  3. Code in Something worthwhile. Sure, you can make a fun Project in Batch, and I'm not telling you to stop, but I'm telling you to invest in something more worthwhile in the meantime, like C, C++, C#, Java, etc.
  4. Try to find a New and Creative idea. Copying what someone else did on Youtube doesn't get you popularity points here or anywhere online. Find something someone hasn't done. Either that or work on Open Source projects.

You should at least feel glad i know a "programming" (i guess *sigh* scripting) language. I can't learn other languages because im very impatient and wish it was basically plain english! The closest thing near my needs is batch. I know your okay if i make a fun project but i can't make anything that includes a "good" programming language. Ill think about it...Ill either close the project down and only make it so its not open source and launch it diffrently. or ill continue with this project while its standing on its legs...

And i don't remember seeing a video of a OS of it. I seen one but that was AFTER i was having fun making os'es with batch. I tried to learn python with a book on my computer but it never gets to where i want it to go, but to do that i have to learn stuff i dont want to learn. Its like school, i can make this awesome project but i have to learn about it first. And yes i tried my best to go and learn programming languages 3 TIMES! i even once recorded me learning it.

I don't know what to do with this anymore, i guess ill just keep working on it and once its released cross my fingers it will have some positive feedback.

So there you go.

I was being rhetorical with a lot of those examples.

I've seen Batch OS's on youtube, and they suck in my oppinion. If you can create something that truely functions, I'll be glad to say, "Cool." but you really need to learn a real programming language if you want praise.
