I think it's 5.3.2 or 5.4.0. Depends when it was manufactured, I think.

The bundle with just Splatoon comes with 5.3.2.

Like I say, I think it depends on when the bundle was manufactured.

It was released in Europe on October 30 (2015) but in North America it was released on November 27 (Black Friday).

Uh, the Smash bundle (wii U 8gb +Smash) came out 5th December 2014 and came with 4.0.2E.
Just sayin.

Thats likely because it was an old white wiiU bundled with a retail disc that just needed a new box with a small graphical addon.
If it was a new bundle with a console infused with games, i doubt that would happen.

I just bought this and had to update to get splatoon mariokart was preinstalled should have checked the few first as now I am on 5.5 roll on the next exploit!

All I suggest is you pick up MP10, update your Wii U to 5.3.2, spoof it to 5.5.0 using exploit, go to the eShop and redeem the codes for Splatoon and MK8, and you should be all set up.

If it is on 5.2, the consoles must be the same used with the previus mario kart 8 pre installed bundle.
New box and a download code. Nintendo is really having a hard time selling the wii U... too bad, great console.

Can be great news for someone buying, hope its not too random.
Too bad splatoon as a download code, i thougt they would pre install both.

got this problem my self i am on 4,3,2 and have a download code for splatoon so if i fake my firmware to 5.5.0 i can download it, it wont update my system
