If you had the choice between normal plastic cases and steelbooks for your games, which would you go with? I have the possibility of having Project Zero and Xenoblade X both with their steelbooks but the plastic cases are fine by me so undecided which one to go with. Steelbooks look nice, clean and unique while the normal cases are just that, normal.

Steelbooks are wonderful, but the industry seems to be going the other way; today's cases are so flimsy and cheap, with those gigantic holes everywhere. They're barely cases.

If the content is the same and the price is no issue steel boxes are better simply because they aren't the standard so they feel special. There isn't really a difference aside from feeling you got something special.

If they were the same price than I would go with steel books but since they need to mass produce plastic is the cheap way to go.

Those ones are much cheaper, lighter and eco-friendly so companies decided to opt for those instead. Have to admit though, they are a bit too flimsy.

Cheap is the key word. They save ten cents worth of plastic, doesn't do jack for the planet. If they really were "eco friendly" all their cases would be some sort of recycled paper boxes or whatnot like the Game Boy games used to come in.

Thats why most people go digital also because it cheaper and the best bet if you dont like the case is to buy custom cases.

Console digital games still cost way more than physical copies, though.

Plastic. Did anyone think about the weight these things get when you got that many steel cases?

I was happy to discover that none of the games I bought for my new PS4 have those stupid fucking holes in them. All nice and solid like cases should be and used to be before treehuggers and cheapskates ruined them.

Steelbooks are nice and solid, but I always worry about accidentally scratching or denting them.
