OK, I have a n3DS XL with Cubic Ninja. I am on 9.0. I have been running any and all homebrew without issue, except RetroArch keeps dumping me back to the main 3DS menu with "An Error Has Occurred Forcing the Software to Close" message. I have googled and no one else seems to be experiencing this with me?

I am using the latest nightly. I extracted 2015-12-02_RetroArch_3dsx.7z and put all the core folders in the /3ds/ folder, and the /retroarch/filters/ folder in root.

The cores all show up fine in the Homebrew Launcher but again, I get "An Error Has Occured" every time I try to run them. What could be wrong? All other homebrew works just fine. Thanks for any help anyone can give! I am desperate to play some SNES at 60fps!

Hi guys.
I'm trying run mame 2000/2003, but i got a red bottom screen.
I have the XML on the folder mame 2000, last build, with the same name of 3dsx, with extension xml.
N3DS 10.1 Themehax + Ninjhax (3dsx).

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, I removed the Youtube App from the XML, and the emulator boots up, but the upper screen doesnt show the menu, like the other ones, and the bottom screen hangs with message "Failed to load content". Any tips?

Again, now i created the shortcut, but the game doesnt load.
Will wait a more stable version of theses cores.

Is HW acceleration for O3DS on the todo list? Everywhere I look I'm seeing emulators running in interpreter, or other crap/workarounds that is targeted for sysnand above 9.2 and AFAIK that's a recipe for SLOOOOOOOOW. Is it not a waste of time trying to work with no kernel access? Or are we so optimistic that even in interpreter we can have a smooth experience?

I'm curious because I just discovered AGB_FIRM method of playing GBA's (newb), and its 99.9% flawless, video and audio on Fire Red 10/10. Citra doesn't get close to that in its current state and I thought that was with the kernel level access? So is it now just a matter of time while code is optimized/rewritten, or is the O3DS SOL? Figured if the AGB_FIRM method was so smooth (yes I know thats Nintendo's emu), SNES would probably be smooth too, seems to be around 20-30fps, hardly playable; nice to see it working though anyway.

Not asking for progress updates or ETAs, I'm just wondering if accelerated graphics will be a thing, and if it will enable us O3DS people to play smooth.

Just to clarify, AGB_FIRM isn't emulation. The 3DS (both old and new) has GBA hardware inside it, which is why you get full speed playing games on it, even with O3DS. I wouldn't expect much more out of SNES without using hardware rendering like BlargSNES does; the old 3DS is just simply too weak to do it all in software/without heavy optimisations.

Holy crap, I've been only using CatSFC after reading that its so much "faster", I just fired up the same roms I tested in Catsfc, Aladdin, NBA Live 95, Killer Instinct. They lagged horribly in catsfc but blargsnes is like having a real SNES. Thanks!!!

Delete everything and only install the CIA's. Also install the 11-24 cia's instead of the latest.

OK so don't do it via Homebrew launcher any longer? Kind of a PITA to have to delete then reinstall a CIA every time. But I'll live. Just making sure I am not the only one with this problem.

Which SNES "core" is considered the fastest with the best sound?

I gotta say I am really impressed simply with how it looks. It looks, visually, like an SNES. I use the LQ2x filter and set the screen res to custom and make it the default SNES resolution and it looks as good as it did on a CRT except without stupid scanlines or other upscaling effects. I am not sure how it does it. It's amazing. SNES always looks "off" on every other emulation method for some reason.

With CIAs, you shouldn't need to delete them every time, just overwrite the already installed one. If you're using FBI, it'll prompt you to overwrite/update the already installed one, with no removal needed, so it should save you a step.

Thanks...but I am still not a fan of the CIA method (rather than just running it from the Homebrew Channel) because if I install all the CIAs, I can't even tell which one I am running. There's 3 SNES cores that all have the same icon, and there's no "title text" when you select the CIA to open it.

Why does running them from the Homebrew Channel not work? It's literally the only homebrew I have this issue with.

I wouldn't really know. I don't use the 3dsx builds because of reasons like that (instability, limited code size (see my ports of MAME and FBA full, they require piggybacking off of Youtube/MH4U/SSB, which is really silly), random things that happen on one 3DS but don't on another). CIAs provide a stable environment to work with, at least on the development side of things. :/

Why would you install all 3? Both pocketsnes and catsfc have obviously different icons. You're being pretty silly here.

Sorry if it's already asked/solved, but... is there any problem with colors in the Gambatte emulator? GBC games looks pretty... uncolorful.
Especially in comparison with Gameyob.
