if you have time to learn how to exploit, buy a new one. If not, buy sky3ds
SKY3DS Plus Compatibility:
For 3DS Game: Support future and old 3DS Game whatever with or without AP checks.
For GBA/SNES Game: Support with homebrew compatibility!
For CIA 3DS Game: Support!
For NDS Game: Buy R4 3DS card to buy DS Games, not SKY3DS or SKY3DS Plus!
CIA game is supported !

where did you see that? That's only 9.2 or below

Don't trust resell sites. It's obvious a lie.
It doesn't even say so on the official website. Why would you ever take the words from somewhere else?
maybe sky team doesn't try it yet and some resell website found out about it ? We don't know it yet, so just post about it and wait ultil someone can confirm.

They're the ones who make the fricking card... Why would they not know about it while some random shady reseller would?
Just think...

Not to mention that it would be a great advantage and selling point. So if it really was like that, you can be sure it would be on the official page for sure. They're not that stupid.

they don't know they sky3ds support smealum's hack or not, until they try it.

Smealum "hack" has nothing to do with CIA support.
To run and install CIAs you need kernel access, meaning, 9.2 or below. You also need a way to run unsigned stuff, meaning, CFW.
Sky3DS doesn't do that and HBL from Smea has nothing to do with that either.

It's very unlikely. Otherwise, people will buy it to downgrade their consoles.
Come to think of it, This cart acts a bit differently from other sky3ds (blue and red). Maybe someone will study their firmware.bin and find interesting things...

Maybe they got Kernel access accidentally XD...like a sort of achievment in ignorance...^^

i know, that's why sky3ds "support" it. "support" with sky3ds mean they can run without confict with sky3ds.
So my correction is, Sky3ds "support" cia game, with fw <9.2 and have rxtools. Happy ?

That's the same as me saying I'm selling sweet lemons just because I pour sugar on them beforehand.
Without the sugar, there's no sweet lemons. Same here.

They don't support CIA games. Their card simply can be used alongside a CFW if someone on 9.2 or below wants. But it's the CFW that supports it. The card does nothing.

they always say their card "support" like that. You don't know it because you don't use sky3ds.

OK, I just want to play the American version of Super Mystery Dungeon and "unlock"/have access to the hidden other languages which are in it? Do I go the CIA route or will that be possible with a sky 3DS...

Should be possible even with an old Sky3DS and HANS, no? I think so at least.

The problem is that SMD has AP check apparently. And I already wanted to try the retail version but I don't know if it's even compatible with HANS (got conflicted report about it)...

I wanted to buy retail version, extract ROMFS from pre-translated CIA or .3ds version, put said ROMFS in HANS folder, play...but I don't even know if the game will work with HANS...

I don't understand why people are angry. I have a sky3ds, for the record. And I don't think I will buy the new one. So, we just have to deal with it. We can't play AP check games on our old models and it was not delibrately made by Sky team. I wonder why some Gateway fanboys crawl out of the shadows to troll this thread when their beloved cart doesn't support 9.2+ firmware.

cuz sky3ds is a really expensive FC (more than a new 2ds) ....and CFW are so near to do all the sky3ds do....so if all have some patience...we have access to all on 9.2> .....dont waste more money in another piece of sh it , what can be blocked in future

greetings
