you can use free multipatcher then the game will show up and playable on cakes. the only letdown is the game will appear in a box and not really nice if you have alot of out of reg games installed. but free reg cakes is on to do list, so it will come eventually.

People can make their own cake for region free if they're not happy with the pace of @mid-kid's update schedule. Unfortunately nobody else seems to be interested in contributing to development of CakesFW.

where can i get that the free multipatcher?

I'm on Reinand right now on my 9.0 N3DS XL, trying to switch to CakesFW to get the themehax+CBM autoboot, but trying to boot emunand through Cakes just results in black screen. I know I have all the necessary files that need to be found elsewhere, and if I disable emunand I don't get sig patches. Is the current release not compatible with hax 2.5? I wish I caught release 99 before the previous download site died so I could get CakesBrah_99, which apparently was compatible.

Cakes_100 includes CakeBrah_99. I released that separately because I wanted to save 100 for something more awesome, but realized it wasn't worth it, since I'm doing stuff very slowly.

That said, new release: Cakes 101

Cakes_100 includes CakeBrah_99. I released that separately because I wanted to save 100 for something more awesome, but realized it wasn't worth it, since I'm doing stuff very slowly.

Currently on my todo list:
* Boot from homemenuhax without the hax payload (been working on this, but very slowly. Should fix incompatibility with future hax versions, since smea don't give a shit about privilege escalation)
* Nitpicky things like unifying cakes for different firmware versions, don't keep them in separete folders. Should ease redistribution (and should be useful if I ever do the next bullet point), and loading the NATIVE_FIRM straight from NAND (should fix all the people whining about firmlaunch)/SD (would be cool). (These don't sound that hard, but haven't started yet)
* The "Ver." string, along with whatever way I come up with to run arm11 code in a modular way. If I end up figuring this out, we might be able to start NTR on boot. (I haven't started on this yet)
* Along with the above, bootstrapping FBI from the SD would be nice. (haven't started)
* I'd also like to patch AGB for emunand. (haven't started)

Please note that I'm generally lazy, and even though I'd __like__ to do all of the above, most of it is lightyears away. (Having to work alone doesn't really help to motivate either). That said, I'm falling behind on my grades, and have some personal things I'm working on (I keep switching between working on cakes and other things). Don't expect anything.

That all looks really nice... Don't worry about how long it takes, I also have school and know how much time that takes up and if I could code (I can do a little but I'm not very good) I'd help in a heartbeat, good luck with the menuhax payload... It'd be awesome to have it for cakehax in future... On a sidenote what happened to b1l1bs (I think that's how it was spelled)

He left for work matters. Won't say much because he's kind of sensitive about his privacy. I don't have any contact details so I haven't pinged him. Last I heard of him was through @Suiginou, but that was was a pretty long time ago. It's spelled @b1l1s by the way.

Wait, patch AGB for emunand? does that mean installing the GBA .Cias directly in the emunand?! I might use this cfw if that's true. Does this have Region Free like RxTools?

You can already manually patch AGB for emuNAND... All you have to do is install the GBA CIAs into sysNAND and emuNAND... Also if you read above there is some discussion about region free (cakes doesn't have it) you can still use region free with fmp though

I really never had an issue with cakes cfw loading from ctrbootmanager. If my O3DS fails to boot, it fails at the hax 2.5 payload already at a yellow screen. once that is loaded, ctrbm and cakes have a 100% boot rate for me.

CtrBootManager has it's own copy of CakeBrah, and it uses a workaround for reducing the boot failures. (namely waiting a few seconds)

I have a n3ds 9.0.0.20 sysnand and i use Cakes 101/b99adf0adb279712367c06eb83ba9ae6 firmware.bin via hbl and hax 1.3

Enable emuNand and Disable sig checks are selected.

Boot cfw boot... > I have a black screen. the problem is solved!

I was already using Gateway fine and used ReiNand in the past. I used the 9.5 firmware.bin file from filetrip and the slotkey file from the Cakes post on 'that iso site' (the firmware.bin file from there did not work). The cetk file from the download link on this post.

I can boot into sysnand (I am assuming, as trying to boot DS profile again resulted in an error) but emunand just gives me a black screen. Can anyone help?

I just finished getting my 9.0.0-20U N3DS ready to go last night and have run into the exact same issue as people above.

Using SanDisk 16GB Class 2 card. (This might be an issue. A class 4 might solve this.)
1. Launched Gateway via Ninjhax QR Code.
2. Backed up Sysnand.
3. Relaunched Gateway and formatted Emunand.
4. Installed HomeMenuHax and configured to auto-boot HBL.
5. Downloaded CakesFW 101, firmware 9.5 bin, cetk.
6. Booted Cakes menu and enabled sig checks, emunand, and auto-boot.
7. Received a black screen when booting into emunand.

Any light that can be shed on this would be great. I'm sure the guys above would also love to know why it's failing.

I'm aware of the black screen issue on n3ds emuNAND.
I'll look at it this evening.

If someone could test if a RedNAND (not a Gateway emuNAND) works with the latest cakes on n3ds, that'd help a lot.
