I spent all day yesterday trying to updated my o3ds on 7.2 that I updated with Pokemon Sapphire. VerseHell told me I would have to use rxtools 2.5.2 + devmode + sysupdate to update to 9.2. Every time I try and install FBI to the H&S it just boots up like normal. I also tried injecting FBI into the sysnand with the program on the forum, but it still just boots the normal screen. Can anyone please help me or point me to something that can. Thank You.

Had this problem with my friend's 3DS as well. We tried the built in rxTools FBI injection, and the newer injection method by Dok3 and co.
We didn't try the original manual injection method by Riku.
Eventually we just gave up and he came over and used my Gateway card lol
Hope you are able to fix it.

If anything, you can try running Ninjhax 2.5 (via Cubic Ninja cia, browserhax, etc.) while in emunand or sysnand and use the FBI homebrew app to install FBI.cia

why is it again that n3ds cant have a higher emunand of 9.5?

From what I understand it has to do with an added layer of encryption in the kernel (a new one keyslot was added iirc, and I think they may have shifted the location of the existing ones) that is preventing us from decrypting NATIVE_FIRM on 9.6+. Unless I am widely mistaken we will need either an extreme amount of luck in regards to brute-forcing the new key or someone at Nintendo will have to leak the key.

No it is not. AGB and TWL patching is not implemented on the N3DS as far as I know. No word yet on when (or even if) it will be implemented.

That is exactly what we tried (using the latest FBI to inject), but it was still the H&S app that launched after the injection. Apparently there is a bug with the Gateway downgrader that could result in having 2 H&S apps, although only 1 will be recognized by the 3DS. Well, that is how I understand it.

Hi, people, i've been testing intensly the latest nightly on my N3DS.
i came to the conclusion that the only things that don't work properly are :
- AGB/TWL firm patching (which in turn prevents users from using GBA and DSIware on emunand, this only applies to N3DS users), but said firm patching has yet to be implemented in the first place, so this is to be expected.
- FBI injection and H&S restore seems broken on N3DS.
- the .3dsx seems also broken from *hax2.5
- and the bottom screen is often broken when you boot from *hax2.5/themehax/CTRbootmanager (but it works fine if you boot from MSET, not sure about O3DS browser launch.) i believe that this issue arrived when brahma 2 was introduced, and is slowly but surely being fixed (thanks again @173210 for your recent help towards libkhax's codebase.)

this is pretty much what needs to be fixed, for us to be able to talk about a 3.0 official release.

This being said, could someone with an O3DS and running a recent nightly (november or more recent) go to advanced -> Install FBI -> sysnand -> check TMD only and post a screenshot of that here ? that would help me a fair bit

Seemed that DS carts not working on rxTools emuNAND with SysNAND 4.X existed a long time.

My test:
O3DS A - Sys 9.2, Emu 10.3, RX Nov.15/Nov.19/Oct.02, Menuhax booting - Run DS cart properly
O3DS B - Sys 4.5, Emu 10.3, RX Nov.15/Nov.19/Oct.02, DS profile booting - "An error occured"

DS carts:
legits, MT-card bluecard, DSTWO

Dunno how N3DS is.

(Edit) Opened an issue #314 on github.

(Edit2) Since the project has announced that rxMode only supports TWL(DS carts/DSiWare) on SysNAND, I'm doubting if I need to close that issue.

DS mode won't work.

The only CFW that can load DS mode/ DS Flashcart is CakesFW

Dunno which nightly you're using, but there is no more firmware.bin in the latest ones. Read the readme inside the tools folder.

Yea... good luck with that if you ever get an N3DS. You'll never play newer games again without finding modified ones. Rxtools won't let you play even SSB as a cart because of the 9.5 emunand limitation.

AFAIK to play SSB you must be on 9.2 or higher (if not lower)...
