Not really. Only way to get keys for 9.6+ is by booting 2.x firmware somehow on n3ds (lol). I have another plan but it's not much easier.

With GW, you can update via rom, otherwise theres sysupdater app.

The newest builds don't work with cartdridge updated consoles. Use the 2.5.2+devmode+sysupdater to fully update your console to 9.2 for example.

I've got a 2ds, two o3ds, and an o3dsXL that were all updated with my Smash Bros cart to 9.2 and they all run the 11-24 builds from lavanoid just fine.

So i have an original 3ds xl on 4.4u and I want to play gba virtual console games on it. I currently use a gateway with latest emunand. Any ideas on how to go about this? I never considered rxtools or pasta, don't know how to install them, and don't know which is better.

My goal is to keep my current gateway functionality but also be able to play gba virtual console games. Any help is much appreciated.

None, rxTools (and everything else) only supports up to 9.5 as emuNAND for the New 3DS. 10.3 is only supported for Old 3DS.

Hey everyone, emunand protip I've just figured out:
You can take your sd card while in emunand if you do the following:

1. Turn wifi off
2. Close any suspended apps
3. Open the internet browser
4. Wait for it to say 'Connection failed.'
5. Remove sd card
6. Make sure you don't touch anything in the web browser
7. Re-insert sd card
8. Close the web browser

This allowed me to do some savefile modifying without having to restart my 3ds each time I removed my sd card.
