So, I've been curious about this for some time now, and I seem to be getting allot of mixed feelings on this, but does any know what the actual definitive way of running wii iso's off an external hdd is? I have heard the method I have been using, WBFS Manager is officially dead! is this true? and if so then what have ppl been doing to play there wii games off the external? lol I'm sorry if this has been answered before, I just kinda wanted to get straight to the point and find an answer, you guys have always been such great help in the past, I thank you for it :D

Currently I am running my wii iso's on my FAT32 formatted external and any game I am using is placed on the external via wbfs manager, i've always wanted to just place the iso files on my external with the need of doing this but I just don't know how or if theres aways? it sounds like there is?

External HDD and FAT32 is the recommended method :)
You can either use the .iso file directly, or convert the iso file to .wbfs with various tools. The latter format saves a lot of space.

So what your saying is I can just drag my wii isos on to the external and wiiflow master mod will know that there? And if so what do u do about the 8GB games since where using a FAT32 partion?

Well, considering that fat32 couldn't read file higher than 4gb, it is recommended to convert the iso file to .wbfs. The process sure is a bit annoying, but the amount of space saved is worth it.

Also, I was mistaken here. Fat32 wouldn't let you use iso files directly, as these are 4.7 gb. NTFS partitions would let it work though.

So in other words I should just stick with what I've been doing and use wbfs manager the lol [emoji2]
Well, pretty much, yeah :P

Sorry for my first reply, I forgot the 4 GB limit part :P
Unless you use NTFS, it won't limit to 4 GB files.

I've been using the same WBFS formatted hdd since 2009, and it's not dead yet. About saving space, I have a small 500GB usb hdd and it stores all the games I want to play.
