Would it be possible to make the HANS loading have some options? Most of games work with HANS, but there are some that don't. Perhaps something like:
Tap=launch with HANS
Hold=launch normally
Since you can't rearrange icons by grabbing them, it wouldn't make screw things up. It could apply to both the touch screen and the A button perhaps. Also kind of weird, but if HANS defaults to EUR region when I use it through your option, instead of selecting the region of the game.

Not a bad idea. I like the idea of a long press bringing up the option to launch by HANS or R4. I'll add it to the to do list.

Hey, @mashers I have a bug report. So, I discovered this bug back in Beta 105, when HANS Booting was implemented, and it's still in 107. The point is, whenever I launch the inserted cartridge with HANS Booting from the Region Free Launcher, all it does is opening Download Play. I have no idea what Download Play has to do with all this, but it's a thing, I guess. I tried it with every 3DS game I own. (3D Land, Tomodachi Life) System Version: New 10.1 EUR (Both games are European)

Also, when I said

I didn't mean StreetPass and SpotPass in general, I meant notifications for all three on the app icons. Y'know, the blue-green dots (StreetPass, SpotPass), and the ripple effect (Nintendo Zone). Or an alternative. I dunno.

Oh I didn't notice the bug with launching the cart from the grid. I've just tested it and reproduced it. I know exactly why it's doing that and will fix it tomorrow. WRT streetpass/spot pass, as I said before I don't think the title scanning code has access to that information but I can look into it.

Another question, is I have beta 105 (haven't updated yet) and the RetroArch build from last night. I used the 11.04 starter pack prior, but it is still telling me to update my payload? Is this because your launcher isn't supported, or am I screwing something up?

I don't think the installer has to do with payload version (unless you have an old one trying to get 2.1). just re-run it.

For some reason, all of my sound effects on my new theme make a somewhat loud 'click' at the end of the playback. I did them the exact same as my FEif Theme sounds...
It looks like this in audacity:

I think I gotcha' covered! Try re-exporting it but before you save it all the way make sure you clear the metadata from the file.
Right now there is a field that says "Lavf56.14.100" and grid-launcher will "play" those letters as audio.

THANK YOU! It worked<3 How strange that the metadata is read as audio with Grid Launcher, though I guess it wasn't specifically told not to read it.

I only have one more question. When I have a HANS shrotcut selected with the newest update (beta 107?), it draws a 1 to the bottom left of the top screen

Oh yes, that's exactly what it is. I added code to count the number of lines used by the app title to prevent it overlapping, and printed it to the screen to check it was correct. I forgot to remove it. It will be gone in the next beta.

I'm assuming the project is open source, and I know this kind of request is super easy to implement AFAIK, so if you want it bad you could try looking though the code and implement it yourself. Might even be kind of fun.

I've just uploaded beta 108 to GitHub and the online updater:

• Fixes a bug which caused the grid to be un-selectable when changing pages while corner buttons are selected
• Fixes bug launching cart using HANS from main grids
• Added boot option (HANS/Region4) manual override. Hold down on an app/title and after a couple of seconds a menu will pop up to allow you to choose whether to boot the app using HANS or Region4. This will override the HANS title booting option in settings
• Fixes a bug in which filtered titles would be reset if backing out of the title filter options before the titles had finished loading

this kind of request is super easy to implement AFAIK

Two things!

About wallpaper theme:

• The Select boot method menu and the Add hans.3dsx and hans.xml in gridlauncher/hans/ menu have to use the topinfo.png and the bottomnongrid.png.

About Hans selector in Title Launcher:

1. Opening the title launcher (bottom left)
2. Holding touch on a title.
3. Select boot method menu shows up.
4. Touching Cancel button once (the button focus goes to Cancel)
5. Touching Cancel button once more (the button focus goes back to HANS)
6. Touching Cancel button once again (the button focus goes to Cancel)
7. Touching Cancel button one more time (it closes the menu)
