Was able to get the romfs.bin and renamed it to gamecode.romfs do I need to get the code.bin as well? How would I know if it worked for the game? Do I have to be very far in the game to see the changes?

Following some guidance from this thread, I was able to use HANS to make the change.

After finding OP's CIA, I was able to extract the romfs using ctrtool.
The commands used to gain the romfs.bin was
Code:
ctrtool --contents=contents (Name of OP's Release).cia
ctrtool -p --exefs=exefs.bin contents.0000.00000000
I was then able to place that romfs.bin in the SD card, renamed to 000FC500.romfs in the hans directory.

With HANS pointing to the file, the graphics were replaced in my legitimate eShop game, and I was able to continue using my save.

The romfs is a few bytes shy of the full sized CIA in size. This request is inefficient and legally grey. Best to obtain OP's release.

I did it like you but some graphics appears like the EUR version no the JAP. Sorry for my english D:

Any working link for the romfs?
I never tried homebrew on my 9.7 US Original 3DS with OFW. (because it can't read eshop roms or cia)
Do i simply have to put the rom next to cubic ninja and press the blue button when HANS is working? With the latest diskwriter and template or do i have to add a new template and such.

Extracting the ROMFS from the pre-patched CIA referenced in the OP is pretty easy, so no need to get into legality issues posting the ROMFS here ;)

Also, I made a quick and dirty SMDH for a HANS Shortcut for this. Here it is if anyone else wants to use it.

I don't think we need the code.bin, the changes are just models swap.

Updating ninjhax/not trimming the romfs did the trick.

I'm now trying to figure out where the default costume textures are, they're definitely not in the PCM/PCF folders.

When I say "default costume textures", I mean the "Onion Shirt", Tiz's default costume. I've only seen the texture files for it in the "romfs\Graphics\Ar" folder, but you can't replace those costumes with say.. Tiz's DLC costumes.

they're technically the freelance job costume but are not in any of the J01-23 folders, and J00 just has "crowd" files.
