Hacking Update EMUnand with rom

hy guys.... i want to update my emunand ond NEW 3DS XL ... since 3dsnus arent working anymore, i've downloaded the .cia files from iso site, installed with bigbluemenu... aaaannnddd bricked my EMUNAND

i just want to update to 9.4 wich minimal requeriment for amiibos

can i use a ROM to update EMUNAND?? like, xenoblade or codename steam?

i have a nandbackup and capable to do hardmod with something goes wrong

i want just to know if i can update emunand with rom

Hmm... depends if the rom has an update partition on it. I'm not too sure.

i read in some post to not use sysupdate with gateway.....
are safe to use??

Where can you get 9.4 cia files from? (This also might be useful for me)

i get the 9.5 files....

9.4 is for ROM updates

I use cfw so i don't know about GW, anyway that's related to SYS nand update, due to the fact that GW uses firmlaunch even in SYS nand, if you use it in SYS nand it will brick the console

just used DEVMENU until get an error and then used BIGBLUEMENU... worked

Just for future reference you can update with a ROM by holding D-pad Up when entering GW mode. Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition contains the 9.5 update.
Also when updating with CIA files it's recommended to use sysupdater, as it succeeds in updating when regular CIA managers would cause a brick.

you should have come a little earlier.. so i dont need do the extra job i've done ahuahauhauhau

If you're on n3DS and update emuNAND to 9.6+ by any method = emuNAND brick
If you accidentally update sysNAND in GW mode by any method = full brick
Other than those two, there's no way it would brick with a ROM update

Hmm... depends if the rom has an update partition on it. I'm not too sure.

Ripping games off the cart doesn't rip the partition with the update on it. So, you'll need an actual game. Go to your local video/game rental place and obtain a game with 9.5 and update it.
