Hi,

Somehow I have some problems extracting Wii-U images with DiscU. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here...

This is what I did:
I have downloaded Super.Mario.3D.World.USA.WiiU-PoWeRUp
pwr-sm3dw.wud = 23,3 GB

I have checked the wud with Uwizard:
Game ID = ARDE01
Title key = Verified
Common key = Verified

I made a new folder with these files inside:
DiscU.exe (2.1b)
libeay32.dll
titlekey.bin (made this with HxD Hex editor and pasted the titlekey from SM3D)
ckey.bin
game.wud (pwr-sm3dw.wud)

Then I run "DiscU.exe titlekey.bin game.wud ckey.bin" to extract the wud.
After this is done, the DiscU.exe DOS box closes automaticaly.

Now I have got these folders:
WUP-P-ARDE : total 748 MB
.RPX = 7.227.136 B
CONTENT = 741 MB

But when I look at the WiiU Loadiine v3.0 Compatibility List, it should be this:
RPX = 7 227 136 B (=correct)
CONTENT = 1.59 GB

The same with New Super Luigi U (Compatibility List):
New Super Luigi U (US) WiiU (about 25 GB)
RPX SIZE= 8 356 032 B
CONTENT SIZE= 1.36 GB

And I got:
RPX SIZE= 8 356 032 B (correct)
CONTENT SIZE= 345 MB

I've got the same results using Uwizard.

What am I doing wrong here?
Thank you

And another one:
Super Mario 3D World (EU) WiiU
wud = 23,3 GB
rpx = 7.227.136 (= correct)
content folder = 1,59 GB (this should be 1.36 GB)

may sound obvious, but are you sure
A) you have enough free space to extract them
B) you downloaded the wud properly
And another one:
Super Mario 3D World (EU) WiiU
wud = 23,3 GB
rpx = 7.227.136 (= correct)
content folder = 1,59 GB (this should be 1.36 GB)
this one may be correct, i found the compatibility list isnt always 100% accurate

Yes I have 70+ GB free space on my HD.
B) you downloaded the wud properly
I have downloaded the game from a reliable source and extracted the rar files successfully..

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Wind Waker HD:
wud about 25GB
rpx = 5.752.832 (this should be 6.994 496)
content folder = 1,55 GB (this should be 1.65 GB)

After this is done, the DiscU.exe DOS box closes automaticaly.
how do you run this command?
if you don't want the window to close automatically, open it manually before running the command.

Shift+right click in the folder where discU is located.
select "open a command line here"
now type the command line and at the end the window will stay opened.

This way you can see if it ends with errors or not.

I have made a .bat file running this command:
DiscU.exe titlekey.bin game.wud ckey.bin

Did you check the hash (i.e. crc32 or md5, or whatever) of the WUD/rar?
yes no problems here.

if you prefer using bat files, add a line with PAUSE command
it will prevent closing the window until you press a key.

did you try re-extracting the files?
does it always stop at the same place? (same size, file number, etc.)

I just did another test:
No DiscU errors (pause command)
Tested and re-extracted the RAR files using Winrar
Super Mario 3D World (EU) WiiU
wud = 23,3 GB
rpx = 7.227.136 (= correct)

are you sure that's the correct size?

it should be 1.59 so if you get 1.59 it's fine.
if you get 1.36 this time, it's better than your first post where you got only 700MB.

Something is wrong with your computer (not the wud as it doesn't stop at the same position).
Maybe ram issue? maybe write issue?
Are you extracting directly on SD card/external device or internal HDD?

Which size field are you looking at? Size on Disk or Size? (SM3DW looks good now to me. Mine is 1.57GB (1,690,862,542 bytes))

Anyways, Maybe you'd be better off using vgmtoolbox, even if you dont want a gui.

It's possible the list just refers to the US release size and the EU version.has more files hence the bigger size, retest the NSMBU or NSLU as they were obviously wrong

I am extracting on my internal HDD. Mario 3D works fine btw so I think the EU en US versions have a different content size. Gonna test the other wud's now.

Size. and how do I use vgmtoolbox? also, is it possible to extract wud's on OSX?

I'm glad this was mentioned I have the same problem with 2 other games. ( pikmin 3/injustice gods among us) they are really small compared to what is on the list. I tried injustice gods among us and it crashed so I re-looked into it and extracted again using discU I noticed when I thought it had finishe it said it could not locate the HO hash. Or something similar so I thought maybe I need to update the game? But was also mentioned to try extracting with vgmtoolbox (which I'll look into today)

Why don't you just use UWizard instead its a lot more straight forward and easier, enter the common key and away you go!. Just open your .wud file, open your .bin key and extract to desktop :) I never bother with DiscU or CDecrypt unless its the only option left with extracting just the system folder with .wud's. Also I presume you have installed all the correct packages for windows x86 & x64 else it will not work properly> https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=40784

uwizard uses discu. if he got h0 error, they need vgmtoolbox or to use nus (for certain games)

NUS doesn't work for all game too.
Assassin Creed III has issues with Cdecrypt (both 0.1 and 0.2). It stops on the first extracting file due to bad hash.
I didn't try removing the hash/size check completely. it's probably not a good idea.

I think DiscU works fine with that game, only Cdecrypt doesn't.

Edit:
AC3 can be decrypted with JNUStool, while Cdecrypt can't.

He should not be needing discu or cdecrypt, for that matter for games like SM3DW or anything in his list. UWizard should decrypt all of those perfectly fine with no issues that error is something else nothing related to discu..

can you give a little more insite on why not plzzz? other then personal preference! also as stated before Uwizard uses DiscU so there is literally no difference in which one to use
