Just uploaded beta 89, which adds support for an additional sound effect: backsound.bin. This sound effect will be played when exiting menus such as settings, instead of the select sound which was played previously.

@mashers I really messed up on my Github branch.
1) Ignore that pull request, I'm an idiot.
2) I'm going to delete and refork your code. Hopefully (again, hopefully) that won't cause issues.

EDIT:
I also might try building on windows and seeing how that goes. Quick question: Do you use spaces or tabs for your indents?

Just seen your messages on GH. To be honest I think your approach is the easiest - delete your fork, re-fork from mine to get all the latest commits, and then start updating and adding commits.

Well, I press tab, but I don't know how the editor interprets that. I assume it adds a single tab character, but some editors insert multiple spaces. I've just moved from XCode under Mac OS to Code::Blocks under Lubuntu, so I can't be sure.

Can confirm if the 3ds folder is your only folder and you turn off displaying the 3ds folder in the folder chooser, the launcher freezes.

BGM keeps playing though.

EDIT: Not enough folder.

@mashers Is there anywhere we can put our sound effect bins to have them apply across themes? I'd like to have one set of sounds as default but perhaps have files in the theme directory override those. So there would be the standard "mashers's grid launcher" sound effects, and unique theme sound effects for themes which have them.

Alright @mashers I got your code to compile on windows (slowly, but it works). I'll wait until you make a change in your repo and I'll try and merge it onto mine, then I'll start messing around with it again.

Not as yet. The search path for sound effects is the currently selected theme. I could make it so that if that file doesn't exist then it will search in the default theme. That way you could put your sound effects / BGM in there and they would be used if no audio bin files exist in the current theme folder. Would that work for you?
