Homebrew USing a N3DS to generate CryptoFix Data

Hoping to get some clear answers.
I did search this out, but some of the posts on the net contradict each other.

I have:
New3DS running 9.0.0-20U FW
emuNAND with 9.5.0-23U
Gateway Red + Blue
SKY3DS
ReiNAND
And a valid/working eShop account


I’d like to be able to update the SysyNAND to 10.2.0-28U so I can participate in making some CryptoFixes for my purchased eShop titles.

My thought is to add in a HardMod, backup my current 9.0.0-20U SysNAND, upgrade the SysNAND to 10.2.0-28U and buy some >9.6 required FW eShops

Then make a backup of the SysNAND with the HardMod and downgrade back to 9.0 so I can again use my 9.5 emuNAND

I can then use some of the NAND tools to extract the SysNAND:/data/<console-unique>/sysdata/0001000f/00000000 and use seedconv.exe to create a seeddb.bin for use with Cryptofix.

Does this sound about right, or am I missing something major here?

So you're only upgrading to get a seeddb? hmm tbh, i can write a program that could crypto fix stuff like that without ever touching the 3DS or seeddb. And even if you wanted to use this method, there are probably seeddb uploaded to certain sites.

Well.... I tried that already before I posted this question.

For example, I tested 3D Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (USA) (eShop) and it's not in the seeddb.bin posted there, so it doesn't work.

I have eShop that I bought and are missing from that small database that I can add to it, but I'm trying to come up with the proper way to do so before I spend another $60.00 getting a HardMod installed and a few hundred more in eShop downloads now and in the future that aren't in that little collection of seeds

I've looked into those "other" sites and they don't have much to offer.
It seems that most/all new eShop is coming out with >9.5 crypto, so a reliable method needs to be developed to extract the seeddb...
I'd be willing to buy you a few beerz for something like this...

Well my method involves communicating with nintendo servers, so im unsure if i want that kinda info to get out, even if i obfuscate the living shit out of my code and add limitations. lol.

OK, so I'm back to my original thought on sending my N3DS out to get a flash port added and going that route.
