The Mario Kart 8 was a deluxe pack, the game was preinstalled on the Wii U. The Splatoon pack is the same (I think), the game is preinstalled as well. Is that what you mean?

Try to avoid systems with preinstalled, digital software. Get the bundles with the physical disc if you want a (much) higher chance to be on 5.3.2.

Plus if you get the physical Splatoon bundle, the console will probably be under 5.3.2, and then you can use the Splatoon disc to update TO 5.3.2. WIN/WIN.

In the mean time, if you download the zip from Dimok's github, he has a precompiled "www" folder in there so you can just replace the old files with the new ones.

Great news guys! Just back from Smyths in Dublin! Bought a Mario Kart 8 deluxe pack (with separate game disc) and not the preinstalled one and I'm on firmware 3.1.0 E! Delighted

I have a buyer coming soon to take the other one, losing some money but what the heck!!

PS: Will the Mario Kart 8 game disc update the software!?

Hi everybody i`m really looking forward using loadiine, but when i try to use Kernel Exploit (no matter from what server) my wiiu just freezes and nothing happens. Im not getting back to settings like it has to be when the exploit works although i am on fw 5.3.2. E . Both screens just become black with some white pixels on it and the wiiu stays freezed. Please could anybody help me? i tried it 2000 times and the result is still the same. Has anybody an idea what could be the problem?

According to this you can look above the barcode on back to see which version it has.
If there's an A it's 4.1.0
If there's a B it's 5.1.2

Either one is perfectly safe to update with. Just make sure you're offline!

If you have A, it's time to decide if you're waiting for IOSU or going for Loadiine.

I have absolutely no problem waiting this out as I'm in an apartment with a shitty 80's TV and won't be back to my own place until February where I have my 46' Samsung!!

I edited my previous post after realizing that the IOSU Exploit (by naehrwert) is supposed to be for under 5.2.0, which both versions should be. And considering your FW is already that low, I'd give it a 99% chance that they didn't stick a new disc with an old system. So if you at least want to play MK8, update offline!

I don't see where the A or B is supposed to be in your box though maybe it's a US thing.

Smash never came with 5.3.2, it's always been 5.2.0 (or higher, as of late)

i have used nusgrabber for installing last update for super smash bros eur, the update is on console but when i launch the game it try to update the software and cant play online (i have 5 50 spoofed)
I have istalled the last version of the two udpdate in nusgrabber. Perhaps i must installing both update, until the 96 version and then the last version?
