While in emunand, go to system settings. Your firmware version number on the top screen should begin with RX-E. This shows you are indeed updating emunand and not sysnand.

WITHOUT LEAVING SETTINGS, cause it will reboot into sysnand. Go to other settings, tab 4, system update.

Also a note. I have heard, but never experienced, rare cases that it updated sysnand anyway. Idk if it's true.

Don't.
If you want an o3DS, use rxTools and all that, much larger support.
If you want an n3DS, it seriously sucks ass
If you want .cias, use Pasta on an n3DS.
but plz never ever emuNAND

Are you guys just messing with this kid? What am I missing?

Oh.
Okay then @03bgood do what you want
Emunand works fine on n3ds, its just limited to 9.5 You dont know what you're talking about

Either you run sysnand on 9.2, whihc doesnt support 9.3+ encryption, or you run 9.5. Its a no brainer to use emunand. Stop giving shit advice

My favorite aspect is the safety net you get using emunand. You can backup and restore nands with just the sd card. No hard mods required.

I like how your only retort is ad hominem. Good work dude. You're a smart kid.

Also, fun fact, emunand can be spelt any way I want, since it isnt a concrete word.

Emunand
emunand
EmuNAND
emuNAND
emu-NanD

Who cares

They're all fullspeed for me, and work much better than VC. How is that garbage???
Sorry to jump back here a ways, but how are you getting full speed Retroarch SNES emulation on your N3DS? Even Super Metroid is less than half speed for me on mine (9.0.0 emuNAND .CIA install, using DevMenu and ReiNAND CFW).

Im sorry, but why use retro arch when you could just use a VC injection cia. I thought there was a Super Metroid one? Might be mistaken here

I'm using the 3dsx builds and Yoshi's Island runs 54-60fps. Mostly 60. Games like DKC are always full speed. Make sure you use the latest CatSFC.

There is no SNES VC on 3DS...

Weird, CatSFC was even worse than the SNES9X Next core for me. But I'll try the .3DSX version and see if I get better results. Thanks.

Frankly, I don't want to mess with it. Besides, as I read somewhere else in this thread, Retroarch (GUI aside) is a better tool than using injected VC for emulation. Plus no SNES VC for the system.

That's not right... The SNES9x Next core is half the speed of CatSFC.
