Having some issues with my 10.1 emunand on rxtools - o3ds

I cant launch DS games on it, tried installing the 6.0 TWL and that didnt work. I think its not working because I installed the lowest TWL and whitelist in an attempt to get a flashcard working.

I know its the TWL_FIRM because on my freshly formatted sysnand DS games launch flawlessly.

Any tips?

EDIT - Just read that running DS games on emunand doesnt work. Is this still the case? It appears so

See my post #874. I got DS carts working fine on 10.1 emunand on o3ds. I just upgraded to 10.1, and it stoped working. I then re-installed the 2 cia's (in emunand with devmenu), and it works again. I guess it doesn't work for everyone, but it does for me.

not true. if you install both "0004013800000102" v1489 & "0004800F484E4841" v0 from emunand with devmenu you can use ds carts in emunand. tested in rxtools emunand on 9.7 and 10.1 You must use dev menu, it wont work with fbi or sysupdater. when you leave the cart, it resets. but with themehax autoboot, it goes right back to emunand. thus the need to get ds carts working in emunand. hope this helps.

I'm having trouble locating TWL_FIRM 0004013800000102 version 1489, but have been trying some other versions. v1211 works fine on my sysNAND, but does not work on rxTools emuNAND. I get the "An error has occurred / hold down the POWER button" black screen when trying to launch an NDS flash card (R4i3DS or Gateway blue card). Either card does work when booted into sysNAND, but as you say, it's nicer with themehax to just forget that sysNAND even exists.

Couple questions for you:

- Is it the specific version 1489 that makes this work? That is, did other versions fail with the same error I'm seeing?
- Is the issue about using dev menu instead of FBI/sysupdater that it won't install at all, or that it installs successfully but then still doesn't work?

I don't know. I'm not an expert. That version was the one suggested on this thread, so I used it. I didn't try anything else. Use 3DNUS to download it. FBI would not work for me, it would give errors. Devmenu worked fine. Perhaps you need the same version installed on both sysnand and emunand.

OK, thanks for the info. I just noticed a couple things:

- Retail NDS carts won't boot either in emuNAND, so it's not a flash-specific thing
- I recently updated rxTools, and could swear I had NDS cartridges working in emuNAND at one point

Which version of rxTools are you running?

It's not like I'm completely doubting you or assuming you're a troll. It's completely possible that for some reason you were able to make it work. But as far as I know, you're the only person to actually being able to do it in all this time. It's been said all along that DS flashcarts/games don't work in emunand. So since you're the first one to say you can do it, I think you can also understand a bit of my skepticism about it.
In any case, don't feel obligated to do it either. You don't have to if you don't want to. It was just a small request on my part that would make people maybe try hard at finding a way to do it.
If some unknown guy says he can do it and shows no proof, people won't be interested in even attempting to get it working since they'll just pass it off as a troll. But if someone shows proof, even if it's from someone unknown as you, they'll have no choice other than to believe in it and attempt to find a way to get it working the same way you were able to.

edit: i just cant get it to work but if i remember right i could not get any sort of whitelist fix to work until i switched to rx 3.0 beta 8 maybe i should try that version for the install

Oh.. those. Yeah, I read those at the time. But as far as I know, that never did anything before. Plenty of people installed the bluecardfix.cia in emunand and still couldn't run DS flashcarts. But I haven't tried with any of the new versions of the CFWs. So like I said before, I can't say for sure if it's still the same or not. It's just that people don't really comment on it often.

I wouldn't be surprised at that given that GW emunand doesn't allow plenty of stuff due to their patches.
But I haven't had the opportunity to test with rxTools yet either and not many people talk about it unfortunately.

I tested with my gateway blue card (with the flashcardtimewarp.cia) and a retail cartdridge and it doesn't work on rxTools for me. (latest nightly, tested with mset and spider)
