Hardware Startup Issue

Hey,
I was having a problem recently for a few weeks; my PC won't boot up normally.
The display doesn't show up, and after a minute it turns on with a blank black screen and then says input not supported. When I press the reset button after leaving it like that for a few minutes, it boots up normally with the display showing up, and this happens every single time.

The weird thing is when I boot it up the first time, when the display is not there, my controller light blinks and does not stay lit, meaning the PC doesn't boot to the desktop. It's not the monitor cause I bought a new one yesterday and it's the same issue.

Any solutions?

The only thing that comes to mind: what resolution are you outputting to the monitor? It should always be the native resolution of the monitor, no higher.

It's the native res, 1080p. And no, I'll try that.

Nope, can't even get to the Safe Mode. Like I said, the PC doesn't start properly. Lights go on, but no BIOS, safe mode or anything, the fans are on but it's not booting up. After keeping it on for a few minutes and resetting it, it starts up fine.

Do you normally get a POST beep on a successful boot? Some PCs are missing the PC speaker needed for POST beep but it really helps to diagnose the cause if you have a beep code to go by on a failed boot. If you normally get a beep, and you get none at all on a failed boot, then that means your PC doesn't even reach POST.

It could be an underpowered or failing PSU. Did you install any new hardware or overclock recently?

It could be an underpowered or failing PSU. Did you install any new hardware or overclock recently?

I don't think a beep goes when I switch the PC on, but the speakers aren't usually on at the time, I'll check nevertheless.
And the PSU sounds like it might be the problem, it's 475 Watts (on in, a sticker says up to 800).

EDIT: Any way to check real time power consumption through software?

I'd suggest running a stress test and mem test as additional troubleshooting steps, just to rule out CPU, RAM and controller issues.

What do you mean by long time to show BIOS? The first startup it doesn't show up, and the second just fine and quick. If there is a problem like that, how could I find out?
And stress testing the CPU and RAM now. EDIT: Ran it for some time, no problems.
(btw, this started happening when I first installed my second SSD, could this be a problem?)

When's the last time you updated your BIOS? You might want to flash a newer version if possible (Gigabyte's flashing software will be called "Q-Flash" in the BIOS)

I never updated it.
I guess updating it won't do it any harm, I'll download it now and install.
