Now this got me interested.

Can you guys enlight me with this Doom thingie? Is it possible to play Doom on our DoubleScreenie?
PrBoom3ds, it's a 3DSX app, google/download or legitimately get the wad, which is the game. You can play doom 1,2, and some of the other doom mods. They usually come together when you download. Pjace the prboom3ds folder in with all the other homebrew in sd://3ds, and the place all your wads on Root of your SD card. Works great the O3DS 10.1.0.27U. I play this all the time.

Wait, CatSFC is running at full speed on O3DS? If so that's surprising.
Wait wat? WAT?

Has hardware acceleration been implemented!? That would be HUGE
It is definitely not full speed, but it is playable. And no, it hasn't been implemented, sadly.

How much in terms of framerate? I mean, playable must be at least 60 or 70% speed, and we're talking about one of the Mode7 showcases

Talk about rollercoaster of hype XD

when you write your emulators you can target whatever you want. Squeezing enough performance out of the n3ds to run emulators is just more realistic than getting anything working on the o3ds sadly.

On other exciting news, fire burns.

Seriously we appreciate your good intentions, but we already know that and are talking about O3DS here. No need to remind that N3DS can cook our breakfast.

Oh I know...it's just that various people at various places keeping posting how game X is totally 'playable' but, when you go and test said game/core, you find that their idea of 'playable' is around half-speed.:ha:

There is no GPU acceleration yet. Everything is rendered in software. That's why it runs so slow on o3DS. They'll be working on it soon.

It still worth to test. Also, if my memory is right, about two or four days ago framerate barely reached 22 fps on Ranma 1/2: Chougi Ranbu Hen (an average fighting game)

If in four days we reached the point of having 26 fps in a Mode7 game, that actually is hopeful and praiseworthy.

By the way, is there a prBoom3DS compiled version anywhere?

I don't think anyone's saying catsfc is full speed on o3DS. Lol. :P
