Homebrew homebrew loader with sleep mode

just use the smea one but before puting in in sleep mode press home once
works like a charm (i dont know if this works in homebrew but it sure as hell works in hbl)
totally works ö. I tried retroarch cavestory emu, and pressing home buttom works aswell. How the hell did you figure that out. You made my day, thanks.

It's not exactly sleep mode. The screens and (sometimes) sound turn off, but whatever it's running keeps doing it. You do save a pretty big amount of battery and get your portability back, but it lasts much less than proper sleep mode.

He probably means that the way homebrews work doesn't allow a proper sleep mode currently. I do not know the details but it does have something to do with kernel access.

@730 is concerned that homebrew is damaging his 3DS sleep mode somehow. @gudenaurock is not saying that homebrew harms the sleep function in some way. The 3DS is not being damaged by the fact that sleep mode is messed up in the Homebrew Launcher. As @link6155 explains, he's just saying that it doesn't work in homebrew for non-hardware-damage-related reasons.

Basicly.

A hbl that enables sleep mode would be pretty sweet despite of being able to press home button to not fuck up your 3ds.
But now I'm more concerned about @Vague Rant 's "deceptively cute" status.

I'm not concerned with HB damaging my sleep mode, only thing is @gudenaurock said that somehow, this "sleep mode" messed up his real sleep mode.

some dude got his screen damaged by leaving on the NES emulator on without sleeping for too long and that still amuses me for some horrible reason

That was just that one emulator which probably had some shoddy programming with the screen or something.

We are trying to explain to you that you have misunderstood this from the outset. @gudenaurock's "real" sleep mode is 100% fine. It doesn't work from the Homebrew Launcher the same as it doesn't on everybody else's 3DS. Nothing bad has happened to any 3DSs with regard to homebrew and sleep mode, it just doesn't work in homebrew. That is all that gudenaurock has been saying for this entire thread. At no point was he claiming to have damaged his "real" sleep mode.
