Thanks for understanding :) if you need help with github I'm sure there are more experienced users than I am, who are willing to assist you in setting it up in any way we can be it simple or complex, for this project of yours to be a long term one. Not sure if someone has mentioned it but github desktop is fairly easy to use and set up, even better as the commits done are easily checked for errors so makes it easier to compile. Looking forward to it mate.

Of course I understand :) I know people are eager to try this out and also to contribute. Releasing software either in binary or source form is a matter of personal pride which is why I don't want to release until I feel ready. Bear in mind also that some of the changes being request are not small tweaks or fixes but substantial changes to the interface. I'm not sure how I feel about opening it up for others to finish the project I started before I've had a chance to get it to where I want it to be. I have had lots of feedback and support to get GitHub set up so I'll be looking into this over the next few days. Thanks again for your kind help :)

I know it's currently in an early build, but I'm just a little bit concern on how it would turn out in the end. Based on past experience, concepts sometimes don't translate very well into products (not all programmers are necessarily graphic designers).

So I decided to whip up a concept of how I think it should look.

I tried to keep the concept as realistic as possible based on how the homebrew launcher currently handle things. I thought the waves from the official homebrew launcher looked great, so I've added them here. I've also changed the font to Robot since Segoe UI is the property of Microsoft. Lastly, I've changed some things to blue as I think accent colors are important for providing characteristics to the launcher.

Just tried this, it even solved a problem with GameYob that i actually had with smea's HL

Pretty happy with it by now.

I'm testing this luncher on o3ds with NH1.1.

There is a problem with the icon selection using keys, the launcher starts with second icon of the first row selected and can't go to the first. If I navigate to the right, it jumps from the fifth icon in the first row to the first icon of the second row, then going right again it goes to the first icon of the first row of the secon page.

I have a total of 22 icons.

Everything else works fine.

About the idea of making a CIA, it will never launch any homebrew. People can try if they want make some experiments, but without the custom hb service installed by the hax, every call to the custom function that loads up the 3dsx file will fail with an error code.

Last but not least my suggestion for one of the next releases:

to have bigger images replacing the icons in the smdh file, you could load, if existing, a png image (i suggest of fixed size) named with the same name of the program and placed in it's folder . So everyone could make it's favourite banner.

You could also load in the same way a txt file with some text content to be added to the information in the smdh.

An other solution would be to place these files in a common folder in the root, so it would be easy for people to download and install a prepacked collection of banners. The two solutions could coexist giving priority to the image in the program's folder.

If one has already installed Ninjhax, then this cia calls that payload, would it work? I'm confused about the phrase "custom hb service installed hax." Or rather, do you mean we'd need some new hax, which would otherwise be near impossible at this point?

I'm having trouble converting the .elf file;

I tried several things but I get the same error every time:
Failed to make cxi (also tried cci): Too large section size.
Segment size = 3d114
Section size = 3e99c

Basically, from .elf files the workflow is this:
.elf -> makerom tool -> .cxi -> makecia tool -> .cia

Never got this error with this tool before.

@Tjessx : That service runs under arm9 and you can't run/install that code from arm11.

About running the service with cia after ninjhax, you are meaning from a a emunand booted with a cfw lunched with nh?

I don't think that the hb service survives after the firmware reboot in the way it's implemented now.

I know that tubehax doesn't installs anything. It's a payload being executed every time again.
I'll send the link when k get to my laptop

When I say Install, I mean Install in memory at runtime, nothing permanent.

Just for the sake of curiosity, the code downloaded by youtube app to run tubehax seems to be a sort of replacement of the svc address table (at least 3 different copyes of it), probably to be injected with some form of gpu hax (the original one was patched if I'm not wrong, but I think something is still usable).

Redirecting the SVCs the code could make the code execution gain enough privileges to setup the hb services. But I gave only a fast glance with the hex editor and the disassembler; I already forgot all the thing I learned about CFW and I don't want to start againg playing with that stuff.
