Also, does anyone know how to convert png files to bin files for 3ds development? I followed the instructions in the example code from ctrulib, but the image won't show right.

Why don't you use sf2d?
I had the same problem and I couldn't solve it so I used sf2d library and gave me good results :P

If the hbl supports Japanese characters,it will be appreciated. The Japanese titles often get weird random names with region free and svdt

That seems very nice :D I hope smea adds this feature to the official launcher ^^
It does work without a problem :3

There is a minor bug in the testers' version. If I enable region free, I must relaunch HBL after, if not, it's just a black square with no description, if I click it, red screen.
BTW, love the water fix! And did the shadows have been changed to fit both color schemes? Oh, could there be an option to customize colours?
EDIT: Strange. Now if I disable region free, it reappers after relaunching the menu. Also, it doesn't let me remove favourites.

Can you wite step by step how to reproduce the problem?

Also, big update is comming, and you just spoiled it!

Diasble RF using Dpad up + R -> exit HBL -> reenter HBL -> try to enable RF using Dpad UP + R!
Big update? When? :D
When I fix this region free bug. I introduced it when trying to solve the empty folder crash with regionfree off by re-enabling region free.
Favorite bug is solved, did it the reverse way.

I have a suggestion: When favorites list is displayed, would be good if shows text "Favorites list" or something about on top screen, same way as folder text does.

Can't wait! Will it come this weekend? Or even today?
If it's icons you're making you can use my program, The SMDH Creator, to create bin files. Just make sure you select .bin when saving.

I think he meant converting on the fly, on the 3DS, within HBL.

Ugh, I forgot how arduous it can be to code in plain C. I've definitely been spoilt by XCode, Objective C and NSLog(). Just adding a value to a struct and checking to make sure it has been set properly is giving me a headache here. How the hell did we ever manage write code without objects and classes?

Objects give me headaches, don't know objective programming, but I should learn.

Big update is up! I'll let you discover what's new aside bugfixes. Don't forget the xml fileS in the 3ds folder!

The "display" favorites suggestion: I think not displaying anything kind of works to show the favorite list is active.
Does anyone more have that request?

I'm thinking of a different solution, which would be cool, but I'll tell you about it when you see the new version. Heck, I may implement it later.

What do you mean by xml files?

Yay! Trying out in a minute!

@suloku please tell me more about line 11 in config.xml!

I guess it just depends what works for the way your brain works :) For me, objects make total sense. I'm thinking of going back to a rewrite of HBL using C++ so I get objects and classes and then use the bits of smea's HBL that boots the 3dsx. Do you think he'd mind? ;)

It's ok! Just do it all what you have planned! I think will be very good, indeed! :yay:
