I'm trying to downgrade to 4.5 for MSET from a 9.2 sysNAND American 3DS, but when I ran the downgrade from its menu, it "says" it worked, yet when I check on System Settings it's still saying 9.2, and I'm fairly sure I've got the proper files stored on the SD card. For the record whenever I retry this it says it's already exploitable. Any help?

Thanks.

You don't actually have to downgrade the entire system to use the Mset exploit. You only need to downgrade the Mset component. That's what rxTools does, I believe and that is why the firmware version is still the same for you.

I see, what's the MSET component? I've already tried loading the Nintendo DS Profile option from my sysNAND and all that seems to do is crash the application.
I thought the system version had to do with it, what should I do then?

Mset is the system setting.

And maybe the file you used wasn't the right one. Which file did you use?

I used msetdg.bin for the downgrade and installed mset-USA-4.0-*.cia through FBI on emuNAND. Though I just read up and it seems I need to install it on my sysNAND. Trying to install it to NAND through FBI is giving me errors.

If NNID settings are missing, you had successfully downgraded MSET.

Explain? On sysNAND Friends List still works and I can get into Miiverse still (it asked me for a password but I just clicked cancel since I don't need to check it), so I'm assuming that's what you meant. If you meant some from the System Settings menu I don't know which you're talking about.

in the settings app when you first open it you'll see near the top NNID settings, if there isn't an option for NNID settings then you just need to reinstall your MSET ROP

EDIT: top image bottom screen at the top

if you don't have it then it should look like this

hopefully this helps

Thanks, no, I don't have this option. However I can't seem to reinstall ROP. Whenever I choose the option on FBI and restart, choosing Nintendo DS Profile in the System Settings crashes the application and restarts my device.

Thanks for the help so far.
if you're using rxTools open FBI, press select, and on the top screen you should see a menu, make sure it says rxTools 4.x, if it doesn't push left or right on the dpad until it says that and press A to install it

Yeah, that's the one I chose ("rxTools2x 4.x" since I'm using rxTools 2.6), but it crashes the application and reboots my device every time I run Nintendo DS Profile.

you probably installed the 6.x MSET then...

EDIT: you say you've installed the 4.5 mset cia on emuNAND which means that you should try the code.bin thing again on emuNAND wait until the bottom screen flashes and then hit the home button... it should install the proper MSET ROP on your emuNAND, next try booting from the emu NAND's DS profile
