I have an OLD 3ds on 9.2 with emunand, etc. The thing is I really want to play Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer and newer games, and idk if it will be possible playing them on cfw. So, should i buy the gateway or is it a waste of money.

Sorry for my english, thanks

If you want to drag and drop the .3ds file a mSD & play it from there, you can buy Gateway.

If you'd rather save the money & drop cias to the internal SD > Have twice the space available on the SD for the CIA and it's install > Install the CIA > Remove the CIA > then play the game, use CFW.
You can play any game with cfw on your o3ds (that isn't N3DS exclusive), you can also update your Emunand to 9.9.

I have a gateway because there was no cfw for 3ds when I bought it. Today you have more options for loading 3DS backups, back then the only way was with a flashcart. I wouldn't advise to you to buy one, unless you are rich or the price comes down a lot.

The problem is cfw is so unestable, my pokemon rumble world and Super Smash Bros saves always deletes and i have to start all over again. I dont want to deal with this anymore, thats another reason i want gateway

What cfw / version are you using?
For an O3DS, you should be using rxTools.
