i did. and since i don't see ebay sellers listing the serial numbers and i have seen people say you have to know what to look for... i am asking what to look for.

Your only options are to contact the seller directly and ask for the serial and if the unit has been used thats all you can do.

Only blue, white and black came out in 2014

So you buying these from Amazon company itself and not a third party seller on Amazon? So then I don't understand why Amazon would be selling NEW consoles that are opened and updated.

The problem as I have stated many times is in the distribution warehouse where the seller gets their supply. The seller then ships to amazon then amazon holds and fulfills the order for the seller. As the buyer you have amazon protection as well as prime shipping. Also consoles are going to be a little older due to custom times for Amazon to be able to fulfill the order

Be careful of sending to many things back to Amazon add they will start banning you from buying things from them.

I just contacted an Ebay seller. This seller has one QW4022 (nobody has confirmed this number on OP yet) for a reasonable price under "Buy it now" option. How likely of it being <=9.2 if the seller claims it was never opened/used?

I saw a few red n3ds xl at walmart the other day, for $40 + shipping over sale price I'll pick it up and install mset and emunand

It's a really hit or miss serial number because QW402xxx is confirmed as both 9.0 and 9.4

thats why you should post 5 digits after the letters of the serial number.

i bought a white N3DS from amazon and the supplier said the serial number is "YJM1026*****" i will post the results in a month or so
hope it is 9.2 or lower

I'm aware but if you look at the charts that sn has multiple versions on both 9.0 and 9.4

Then there's no more frustrating time than finding out the N3ds with the right serial numbers was updated by some idiots then returned and resold as new. Apeshit crazy.
