Hacking Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth doesn't appear to work on 9.5 or lower

So I bought BoI:R today, only to find that it gets stuck at the 3DS loading screen. I suspect this is due to it requiring 9.5+, however I have no way to back this up other than that the game doesn't load. I posted in this section because it is relevant to CFW's as the first of (possibly many) games that requires 9.5+ in order to run.

there is quite a few 9.6+ games, o3DS users can just use 9.9 emunand, and n3DS users will have to wait for a crypto-fix version (assuming there is no other issues, although all 9.6+ so far have worked fine once they have been decrypted properly and repacked)

Not sure what you mean. I've got a N3DS on 9.5 emunand, using GW

It's a n3ds exclusive, so the only way to cryptofix it would be an hardware mod.

ahhh new territory then, guess we will just have to see what happens, although from what i hear 9.6+ emunand *should* be possible on the n3DS "soon"

Try using pastaCFW, with its firmlaunch I think it should be possible to get it to work.

Why is a cryptofix not possible on the N3ds? (asssuming 9.6 emunand support gets released and we can get to the eshop) Just wondering what the other limitations holding it back are.

And on a related note from previous poster: Can we use pastaCFW if we've already installed the cubicninja hack w/mset and all that jazz? (Allowed GW to bootup from sysnand, instead of needing CN cart first)

Just wondering if installing pasta after doing all that can brick or is a big risk to the system itself.

Nope. It needs 9.6+ FIRM, which the N3DS can't run yet. This can't even be cryptofixed, as 9.5 doesn't know what to do with the last part of the crypto key AFAIK. The only thing people can do is wait for Gateway/Pasta devs to get 9.6+ working.

well the current crypto fixed games use a o3ds to decrypt the game, then repack it for use on the n3ds....but with the game being a n3DS exclusive thats not possible

Just tossing this out there. Another forum user stated this about Isaac:

"the n3ds emunand is stuck to 9.5, so the only to cryptofix is that someone with an exploitable console and a hardmod update his console, buy the game, then extract the seeddb.bin from his nand"

Could this be a potential solution? (albeit limited if only a hardmodded user can attempt such)

well, here it explains how to generate the seeddb.bin from a nand dump + xorpads (on 9.6+firmware N3DS mainly)

So this is kind of bad news, and kind of good news. Maybe this'll give Gateway the push it needs to get us n3ds users a firmware higher than 9.5...
