First of all, I wish to say hi to everyone here! I'm been using custom firmware for sometime including softmodding my PS2 to play imports and using custom firmware on my PSP Go along with my original 1000 model so I'm not ENTIRELY in the dark when it comes to mods.

Now that that's out of the way, the 3DS seems to be an entirely different beast than what I'm used to and I've gotten fed up with waiting for Bandai and Nintendo to port Dragonball Heroes Ultimate Mission 2 so I've decided to import the game but I really don't want to have to get a japanese 3DS JUST to play it so basicily is there a hack/custom firmware/flashcard exploit I can use to make my 3DS region-free? I'm using an original Flame Red 3DS for reference.

With ninjahax 2.0 you can get region free on any console up to firmwares 9.9

Imop your better off getting a usa n3ds and a sky3ds then importing the game and system

But to use Ninjhax 2.0, you'll have to get a Cubic Ninja game and they're damn hard to find in game stores. Not to mention, scalpers raised the price up really high even though it's suppose to be only a $5-$10 game.

That's why I said sky3ds. Op can use it first to run cn and then the game region free. The total cost of sky3ds and a na n3ds should be cheaper then jpn import and game import

I've read that Sky3DS does not allow region-free games i.e. playing a japanese game on a US 3DS. Now if it allowed e to play a rom of it then I'd get one and I'd also prefer to use my original 3DS.

Just giving options. I can find red button sky3ds cheaper then inflated cubic ninja prices regularly. If you don't mind the scroll bug their grrrrrrrrrrreat!
I'd rather get the blue button then getting the red button. I mean, it's worth the cost compared to the Red Button. >w>;

You can use the Cubic Ninja rom to use Ninjhax and then use the regionFOUR-like homebrew app to play games from different regions.

The only difference is the scroll bug, but to each thir own

And I say go with ninjahax2.0 over region 4 due to the selection menu for sky3ds people

Interesting, I've never heard of that combination before. So I can use the Sky3DS to use a rom of Kubic Ninja and the homebrew will allow me to play the rom of Ultimate Mission 2?

it will allow you to play any region of that game cartridge as if the console is region free. you can't use it to play roms with your current firmware, the homebrew app I mean.
With the combination of the two, you can however play any rom I think since you can make the console region free and use Sky3DS to play roms.

Did you forget that the Red Button has that 10 game limit? >w>;;

Ah well, I don't have a Sky3DS to say much about it. If it works, it works. :P

Just FYI the game limit was lifted by sky3ds' s new disk writer. You can now with no modification load more then 10 roms. The problem is after the initial 10 roms every other roms will auto scroll to the next

Very interesting! So I can use Sky3DS to load Kubic Ninja then use the exploit to make my 3DS region-free then use Sky3DS to play Ultimate Mission 2. Very nice to know!

The greatest things about ninjahax 2.0 is for region free it loads a little images of the game. This is great because on region 3/4 it's a crap shoot with sky3ds

First get a Sky3DS blue button. I've got mine from aliexpress for 60USD. Then get a microSD and put Cubic Ninja rom in first place and your desired game in second. Now install ninhax 2.0. When started select region free from menu. Quick press the button and when promptet for game just start it. Should work like a charm.
