Being able to play DS Roms in emuNand would prevent the DS Profile hack from having to be reinstalled every time a DS game is launched.

Last time I tried, launching a TWL title from emunand still killed the DS Profile exploit on sysnand. This is because TWL will still access NVRAM and game title/save from sysnand.

Until TWL FIRM gets a proper emunand patch to launch titles/access data from emunand (TWL is currently still booting titles off sysnand which is why you still have to have a copy of the game on sysnand before it will boot from emunand) you will still need to reinstall DS profile exploit no matter how you boot a TWL title.

i want keep the 7.1FW internet(0004003000008802.cia v4096) on 9.9 eumnand to use some Spider

i find on 9.8 eumnand if you only install v4096 replace 9.8FW original(v5121),you will get warning to update when you want into eshop, but if you use 3dsNUS change version number v4096 to v5121,and install replace the 9.8FW original, you will into eshop normal

this time,i want do the same thing, change version number v4096(7.1.0-10) to v6149(9.9.0-26),and install it,but failed,FBI can not install success
Did you just download the one title from 3DNUS? Because I feel like I tried that too and it didn't work in my emuNAND... Maybe I missed changing the version number. I should try again.

Literally just download either of these firmwares, your choice:

2.6b: https://github.com/ApacheThunder/rxTools/releases/download/2.6b/release.rar

3.0A0: https://github.com/roxas75/rxTools/releases/download/3.0-alpha.0/rxTools_2015-07-12.7z

From there, open the "mset" folder, and copy the "CakesROP.nds" and "ropCustom.txt" to your DS-Mode Flashcart. Make sure they're in the same folder.

You might want to open the "ropCustom.txt" and replace all the text with the following, to avoid garbled text:

rxTools.dat
Launcher.dat
MsetForBoss.dat

(no spaces by the way, just those three lines)

Install rxTools as per the usual instructions, and run CakesROP.nds from your DS-Mode Flashcart. Select "6.x ropCustom.txt", and then select "rxTools.dat".
Return home, and launch with System Settings as per the usual MSET launch steps.
Done.
Wait.. if I put the line "Launcher.dat" in the ropCustom text file, Can I use MSET on 9.x with any Launcher.dat, such as Gateway?

The ROP installer does not support gateway-encrypted ROPs.
And 9.x support is only for those using CakeHax

No idea about sysupdater (but it would be cool if possible), but for the gateway downgrader, no.

If your 2ds's firmware is <9.2, you don't need to downgrade the whole firmware but just MSET.

Okay, I'll have to send it off to be hard modded and then I'll gladly test the sysupdater. I know the 2ds is a little different with exploits so I know I can't use my old or new 3ds to flash a lower fw and check haha thanks.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If your 2ds's firmware is <9.2, you don't need to downgrade the whole firmware but just MSET.
So if I'm on 9.2 then I can use the mset 6/x which is obviously just installing the meet CIA for 6.x over my D's profile CIA in the sysnand.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Soooooooooooooooooo

Again, I'm having the failed to install data error. NOTHING works. The older rxTools 3.0 beta boots fine, and the newer versions all fail.

If I install data using the older 3.0 beta, and then replace the rxTools.dat with a newer version, it gives me the error, but rxMode boots just fine using the data created by the older version (last one before 6.x MSET). So clearly, my firmware.bin and all the files are good.

There's something weird going on here. And I see other people are being affected as well. Sadly I'm not sure what is it, but whatever it is it started on 3.0b5.
Delete the rxfolder from the sdcard and try again.

I just used sysupdater to get to 9.2 and all went well. Next I am debating on whether to downgrade with the gateway 4.x CIA file or get the 6.x from 3dnus. Is their any difference with one or the other if I am on a 3DS XL old model? I assume 6.x mset is vital for 2DS owners so they don't softbrick when formatting. Or is their a difference where 6.x mset is better on a 3ds also?

And does the rxtools 2.6 support downgraded mset booting or do I need to use nasty's pre-compiled latest beta for it to work?

Can we convert a .gif image file to .bin for create an animation in a theme?

Animation doesn't happen magically, you have to made it programmatically.

So:
  • yes, you can convert an animated gif in a raw set of bitmap images in a single file
  • no, you cant expect that the screen will show the animation loading such a file if you don't modify the source code.

Thank you because I wanted to put this animation in the launch of rxTools during boot ...

I use it for Decrypt9, but no, like @Dean_ said, the DG ROP doesn't support GW-Encrypted dat files.
The main issue is that, if left the same as in the original release, there is a space and enter encoded into the txt file. This gets misread by the ROP installer, and, though it still works, spits out garbled text after the "rxTools.dat" option. I don't like the look of that, so I fix it and add some functionality.

And to restate, the DG 4.x and 6.x MSET ROPs are 1st-stage only. The dat file must incorporate the 2nd-stage ROP provided in CakeHax, or otherwise compatible.

When launching rxTools for the first time, there's an animation sequence of poitillet that shows the loading of the current installation. Can we not put this animation during boot?

I'm pretty sure that's done using text-printing, not actual images, so you would have to add that functionality yourself.

With a 3DS old model XL or not you can choose 4.X or 6.X mset you don't care.
There are the two version of rxTools that support a downgraded mset : 2.6b & 3.0a0.
You can take the code.bin(s) in the 3.0a0 and use it with the 2.6b if you want.

Have you tested the Nand Dumper/Restore option in the last @Shadowtrance decrypt9 (v1.5-mod with the Launcher.dat) ?
Here : https://github.com/Shadowtrance/Decrypt9/releases

I'm tired to activate internet just to use this option with the gateway menu...
