Hacking Error code 002-0123 for Code Name Steam. Does changing manufacturer affect save data?

Will my save data be lost? I heard from somewhere that changing headers will corrupt the save. Does changing the manufacturer affect the save too? If anyone knows, what manufacturer code does that game have?

If you are using SKY3DS:

Yes, your save data is going to be lost because you will generate a new template. Changing the manufacturer will change the template. The manufacturer code for the game is not what is important. Rather, you must change the manufacturer, using Swiss Army Knife, to match the manufacturer on your unique header. You will find this on the Chip ID information.

yes, I think everything changed with template will affect the rom that you re-write into the tf card.
prepare everything before you use dw to flash the game....
i have the same error code before, with private header most game can play online, but some games with wrong manufacturer code give me 002-0123...and I fix the it after I read this thread.

You need someone with a sky3ds, a 3ds 4.x-9.2 or n3ds 8.x-9.2, a copy of your current working template, a copy of the template you want and a save file generated by disk writer

the better way...you dont have to know the manufacturer of the game....the only thing you have to know is the manufacturer of the game which you pull out the private header....
ex. steel divers (USA) is a C2 card....so for most game I dont have to change to manufacturer in template...better do a double check..if you find some game you want to play but in template is not c2, you can just change it......

the 5th hex on the second row of the template is 45, so even we use the private header, the game still wont work well on internet connection content.

so change 45 to C2 will make the header become usable...

btw, you have to re-flash the game use the new template....dont update template frequently......only do the update when you have to

You should know even with same game, the manufactruer can be different...
I suggest not use sky army knife to do this....I it's a really good tool....
I thing you use the Powersaves to get header right??? because gw will dump other infomation at the same time....
anyway, there are only 4 kinds manufacturers....you can just try them all.....
after you know which one do the online job, that means it's the right manufacturer for the header...than just do what I said before...

knife cannot get the code because your bin file doesn't contain the code.....
what you have to do now is try all the 4 code.....
you lucky maybe only 1 time.....maximum is 4... so....not a big deal....


step:
change the code in template to C2
header should be your private header...
flash the game....
try online feature on 3ds....
not work...
change to AE do the same flash thing....

what you have to do now is try all the 4 code.....

dont do like that.......just do what i said before edit the template file!!!!!! dont create new template by yourself!!!!!!! you dont have to!!!!

1. find the template for the right game in template.txt...just search up the game code ...CTR-P-XXXX etc...
2. paste the header code into the right place.......(you should use 16 hex tool to read the bin file, get the header code..)
3. change the C2, 45, AE code thing.....
then you done....

dont make the thing complicated.....since you dont really the card's infomation, stay away from army knife......

you using the notepad right.....that suck tool can only search downward or upward.....
using others editor you will find 1 or more for some games....

Should I use hex editor? Also, Is there a tool like NoBanNosky that can change ALL game's manufacturers at once? AE seems to be working for SSFIV.. Only 3% games have AE.

GUYS I backed up my save before changing the manufacturer code. After changing manufacturer code and restoring the save to the rom... It seems to have worked?!?!?!? I checked online, it works, and my save file is also back..

Is there anything missing? Why is it working?

Reflash? Whats that? I just changed the template file so that the manufacturer of the game is AE. Then rewritten the rom to the sd card and then restored my old save. The save works fine. Seems to be working on all games o.o

oh uh i tried with code name steam when i was testing if it can go online, when it worked, i tried an extra step and try restoring the save data, cuz why not? Then it ended up working. I'm not sure about changing the private header though. I'm pretty sure THAT will affect save.
