Hacking [Q] Cancelling an upgrade?

My friend took my 3DS and turned it on, she had no idea what any of the buttons meant because it was Japanese and accidentally clicked the upgrade button.

I managed to turn it off before the progress bar went up but whenever I turn it back on it says it's upgrading...

Is there any way to cancel it or revert it back to normal (I'm willing to do a hard mod), or am I stuck on 9.8 and hope for another exploit?

Things I've tried that didn't work
-Recovery Mode
-Auto boot mode

Things that I can't do
-Restore sysNAND, don't have backup
-Restore emuNAND, don't have Gateway nor backup.

I literally just used 9.2 sysNAND and Pasta CFW to load CIAs.

While turned off, maintain L + R + Up + A and then Power up the console. Press the upload option and turn the Wi-Fi off while it's working.
If that doesn't work, then 9.8 it is. At least Ninjhax 2.0 is supossed to be released within this week!

unless you made a nand backup from before you updated you cannot downgrade the system, if you do have a nand backup you can do a hardmod and restore the backup that way

Well, the best choice is to go into recovery mode and see what happens then. If not, Nandmod is the last thing he can do to save it.

do you have cubic ninja and a nand backup, you could try try booting up CN and accessing the gateway menu to restore your backup....PS i dont think this will work tbh as its only supposed to work if the system hasn't done the initial setup, but worth a try i guess

to see if auto boot mode will work try this button combo while turning on the system

R, X, Y, A, and B, a 3DS gamecard must be inserted as well.

I can't believe this... I was so cautious.... I ordered this the day Ninjhax was announced, got it in Japanese because I wasn't sure if an update would be out by the time the English N3DS came out. And now.... it's... useless...

Why don't you sell it and purchase a new 9.0 N3DS? I know it's hard and stuff to find one but I'd do that. If you don't care about piracy or that, use Ninjhax 2.0 when it comes out this weekend.

I don't think I'd be able to sell a JPN console, plus I'd either need to find another JPN console to buy, or I'd have to shell out a bunch of money for a US Cubic Ninja

if you had a nand backup before, try to restore using GW Downgrade function (Hold UP when entering). However, high chance to get a brick. It's better to have a hardmod.
