I updated to Kernal 1.76 from 1.72 clearworks, and Street Fighter Revival is no longer working when I try to load regularly from the PSRAM. It just has a white screen when it tries to load.

When I tried to write it to the NOR and load it from there, it says: " Warning: Cheat Error r! continue=a returnB". If I press continue, it loads the game fine.

What does this mean?

Looks like the reason it worked on the old 1.72 clearworks was because it was some reset patch version that does some sort of reset before loading a game which can fix a lot of problems.

Is this the same hard reset when you hold L and A on a game?

I'm probably going to stick with this 1.72 firmware and just wait for a 1.76 if there is ever a clearworks reset version out.

Making a hard reset version of 1.76 would likely not happen. If it were possible, they would have also made a version of 1.74 by now when it had come out. So I wouldn't be holding out to a reset version of 1.74+ any time soon.

Besides, 1.76 fixes quite a number of bugs and is generally better especially for proper microSD card support. And you can just build your own Clearlooks v6 1.76 if you just take the base files and skin over a 1.76 update file.

If I had the microSD EZ Flash, I would get this new firmware, but I don't. I still have the old white one.

Clearworks on 1.72 with the reset patch just gives me more benefits over 1.76 as I don't play those big file games.

Fair enough.
Many probably prefer the always-on hard reset method of booting games. And if you're still on classic White miniSD models, then that's probably preferable as 1.75+ IS made specifically for the microSD model. If you're not using much space to begin with (It's not about the size of the games you have, but more how MANY), then yeah, stick to what works.

What is the "IS" in 1.75?
