Hacking Mset 9.7?

Would it be possible to install the old mset then manually update everything to 9.7 except mset and the old browser with fbi?
yes, but it wouldn't really give you much except ROP code capabilities....maybe a user space ram dumper.....basically its would serve the same purpose pretty much as CN still being exploitable on 9.7 i.e, not much without more new exploits

So it could be a beginning to 9.7 kernel access with an exploit I presume

but to do it you need to already be on an exploitable FW, and the same task could be done via CN/OOT without being on an already exploitable FW in the first place

so basically, its only really any good IF an exploit is already found to make it more accessible like how gateway used it to loose the CN/OOT requirements once downgraded

I kind of thought that it would be nice to have something like FBI that would update everything EXCEPT what was necessary for homebrew to work, but gave up on the idea, figuring that if it was something we could do, somebody would have already done it by now.
