Than understand the risk of shipping something across the country, or another state, to get it done. Thats always been my concern when shipping a device to anyone knowing that this device is special in a way that you will probably not be able to find another in the exact same form.

EDIT: I completely read your message wrong. Sorry, i'm tired haha >.<

So here's how it ended up.

ChrisX930 was given one last chance to send Fou-Lu a valid tracking number showing us that he had truly sent him his 3DS, but ChrisX930 chose to completely ignore these messages. There is absolutely no doubt that he saw these messages though since his recently created duplicate account was also invited to the PM conversation.

ChrisX930 and his duplicate has now been permanently banned off GBAtemp and I would highly recommend people to not do any business whatsoever with him in the future should you somehow stumble upon him again.

well thats a shame, not nice when these things happen, pretty scummy to drag it on too with all the "oh im not at home" BS, if your not going to return something at least have the decency to make it clear they have been scammed rather than giving them false hope that they will get it "soon"

Someone needs to tell this to the folks over at Gateway!

I'm kidding please don't eviscerate me Gateway fans...

Right, because he kept replying to my messages (at least at first) I felt like it could have been a misunderstanding for a while. Even though I had a bad feeling about it after the first time I didn't receive the package, I didn't want to falsely accuse him.

I regularly trade goods over the internet and 9 out of 10 times there's no problems. This time unfortunately there was. I guess I should have been more careful and was too trusting.

I'll chalk it up to bad luck and will start looking for a new 3ds.

He was probably the mastermind behind the decapping scam :P jk those funds probably went to starting gateway although im not sure if the timelines coincide.

hm well. i feel sorry for you. i wanted to be hardmodded by chris too because he wasnt so far away so i had drive to him to be done.
did a 'trusted' hardmodder list exist or a who mod where?

its is not so important. got no brick, im on 4.5 and will stay - it is only to be able to play a bit around.

well tbh the "trusted" modders are generally people who have done a fair few with positive results, i was originally kinda happy to have chris doing europe too as sometimes postage too and from the UK can be a bit steep for central EU for some people, but in terms of people who have built up "rep" doing nand mods we have me for UK (and EU if people are happy with postage costs), avalynn but not doing them now from what i heard, hundshamer for US, mvmiranda for brazil i think...and one or 2 others who's names elude me

Yup, gamesquest1 did mine, I even posted a picture of my hardmodded O3DS. Shipping costs wasn't really expensive in my opinion (From France to England, so Germany to England shouldn't be that expensive, as Germany have a border with France so it's not really a lot more far, and also have a border with Spain).

Anyway, I guess it's better to pay a little more shipping costs to be sure to get back your 3DS rather than trying to save a little money then get scammed :/

not him, he's too busy with important stuff like ripping people off and making troll homebrew apps :P

Dunno why but when I saw his homebrew was a fake game icon and that he seemed happy to have managed to share it through streetpass, I already got some doubts about the guy...

Well, I'm not sure if the OP is telling the truth or not, although I believe he would not open this thread for nothing... so I'll not comment on the reasons itself.

I just have one thing to say. You take an awful long time to build trust and just a second to lose it, man... that's the reason I was (still am) always true to all of my customers and we always try to reach a common point between satisfaction, guarantee and price.

Thx gamesquest1 for "endorsing" me.
