Hello.

I recently softmoded my Wii U's vwii using this guide: http://gbatemp.net/threads/full-vwii-softmod.339899/

I followed it word for word using the Indiana pwns hack
I'm a complete novice with anything to do with things like NAND and IOS etc.

Could someone please explain how I can completely remove the softmod if I needed to because I can't find how to for the vwii anywhere online.
Thanks

Short answer: You can't.

Long Answer:
You can dump the NAND and hex-edit out ALL your mods, then restore the edited NAND. However, the chances of this being successful are infinitesimal. You most likely would brick your vWii if you tried that. Just the fact that you copied the Indiana Pwns save to your vWii means that the data is on the NAND. Even if you delete it, the data is still there until it gets overwritten.

I see,
Well if I was just to delete HBC and remove the SD Card for good, would there be any chance of a future update/game bricking the vWii? Or could it just be used like nothing happened..?

your vwii wont brick becuase you have homebrew channel installed lol, nothing will change the only ppl have to see if it was modded after you delete homebrew channel would be nintendo, so removing or not doesnt change a thing, unless you need to send the wiiu to nintendo to get fixed, and for that your already screwed anyway so you might as well let homebrew there lol.

Fair point. As far as i'm aware (and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong), is that the Wii has system files called IOS's labelled from 0 to 100 which handle different parts of the systems hardware. all the CIOS's are, are added IOS's on top of what is already there but they are hacked versions of original stock IOS's to allow different parts of hardware to do things it wouldn't normally, like read DVD movies and play games from USB HDDs. So if the stock IOS's remain untouched, thats only whats really gonna brick the vWii right?

no they check all ios even ppl that installed the original ios back they find out, its impossible once you mod to get all md5/sh1 checks matching the official release for your specific console, once you softmod no matter what you do there will be always traces of it and nintendo can find that out easily, but only nintendo becuase they have the values your console ios md5/sh1 should had.

So no there is nothing you can do to make nintendo not see that your console has been homebrewed, there will be always marks no matter what you do.

vwii never bricks as long as you dont install a Wii ios, preety much everyone tha brooke Vwii was becuase they used wii IOS and screwed the console.

Vwii ios is not wii ios but alot of noobs see wii ios and install them over vwii ios, once you softmod then you never need to instal ios again for anything else, its a one time deal i hacked my wiiu almost 2 years ago and never needed to mess with ios again.

When you say install Wii IOS, all I've done is use a cIOS installed and installed 249, 250, 251 and 236. I'm guessing that's not the same thing? I apolagise for my noobishness

cios is custom ios aka homebrew instal lol, so they are the same thing excpt modified for use to run homebrew and backups and all that good stuff, you never instal any wii cios on vwii or vwii cios on wii, they are diferent ppl need to take attention to what they are doing, this is what some ppl do get wii cios/ios and install them on vwii, of course it will brick it, but like i said if your homebrew is already working you will never need to install any ios or cios ever again, unless someone at nintendo decides to release a system update to rehaul vwii which is unlickely very unlikely.

The issue with updating was that people were incorrectly modding/replacing "stock IOSs", as you call them (I prefer to call the vIOSs so they don't get confused with Wii IOSs, personally) which needed to be updated in a particular update, common culprits being vIOS 58 and vIOS 80. Installing cIOSs should not have any adverse effect on your system unless Nintendo specifically decides to brick consoles that contain modified content (which they could theoretically do, but most likely won't as they haven't already). Basically, as long as you know what you're doing and don't f*ck with stuff outside of your knowledge, you're gonna be fine ;)
