It just arrived today, I've decided to buy this one (www.r4isdhc.com) to have a good cross-gaming with my Ds Lite and my New Nintendo 3DS, I've been away from the Flashcard scene along time ago, I did the jump from my DSTT (the first one, no clones, no i and whatever else).

These are my doubts:

1.- The menu is so ugly and slow in this card.... I don't know pretty well what's the difference between Wood and YSMenu but I think they have similar UI (like the original R4), can I install this kernel/firmware?

2.- As I've said before, I'm coming from a original DSTT and since years ago I've been using the Moonshell 2.10 + YS Menu, this UI is cute I think, it can be used in the new card?

3.- I also have a R4i sdhc 2013, but I think is no longer working in the newest 3DS version... but at least the Ui is faster and prettier, leaving aside that this flash has a lot of settings pressing start, when I do the same in the 2015 model it just brings me a pop up telling me that my flash has an error code and suggesting me to formatting using panasonic SD formatter...and I've did that many times, how customizable is this card, any sign why this problem happens?

This is the message:

"errcode=81 errcode=83
SD card Fragment error! Back SD card, then perform full format with Panasonic SD Formatter."

4.- The 2015 has a kinda weird bug when I touch the games section, it tries to open Moonshell like if my touchscreen doesn't works (in the DS lite, in the 3DS is all okay) does this happens to everyone?

5.- If I would be totally screwed and I'm stuck with this UI... is there a way to order by folders the stuff? I don't like to have games and homebrew mixed.

6.- Is there a way to set automatically the N3DS to use the DS resolution by default?

I'm using the 3.5 version, thanks in advance and forgive those newbie questions.

About this error "errcode=81 errcode=83
SD card Fragment error! Back SD card, then perform full format with Panasonic SD Formatter."
It wants you to format with the specific SD Formatter. I got it from here https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

It should be able to run after that, although I'm still having issues with step-two "getting a game to play".

I've used that one many times with two different cards (one of 2Gb and another one of 8Gb) and I keep having the same problem.

This is the error when I press start in the game menu:

I think that shouldn't be normal...

I get the same thing and have used multiple cards and that formatter each time. Games load fine though.

I also hate that all the games are in long list, I like to use folders too but they're not always recognised and when they are it still shows every game instead of just the ones in the folder.

It also doesn't show the cheat codes properly for me.

I've been trying to get a different firmware to work, but haven't had much luck. I got one loading fine and showing the cheats, but it wouldn't load the games!

What card do you use currently?

The one I'm trying to sort is an R4i gold pro, from the same site you posted. 2015 version according to them. I'm used to a supercard ds two, but couldn't get hold of another so went for this as it's for my Mum and she doesn't need to play gba games.

I managed to get a dstt menu working, but again it doesn't organise by folder.

I've managed with the help of other user to run Moonshell 2.10 as a commercial rom loader and a bootable file with the latest kernel of our card.

I just can't stand the original UI overall because I switch this flash to a DS Lite and the brightness goes crazy at start.

Tell me if you're interested in.

Well I've managed to get it loading Ysmenu separately and the games and cheats work fine, but I'd still prefer it to look like yours does. And for it to start as the default.

Cheeky bump..
Hold on, I've been out of my Mac and when I had time didn't know what is the best way to upload it...

I'll try it later through Filetrip.

BTW do you know how to unbrick R4?

That day I've tried to dual boot YSMenu (same as you did) but now my DS doesn't recognize it (Is a 2013 model with the sponge bob icon) with or without micro SD.

No worries, sorry if I sounded impatient!! :shy:

I think I read somewhere about unbricking one, I'll see if I can find it again.

One thing I read said to just reformat the sd card, but if it's not recognising it even without the card, I'm not sure. Will keep looking for info.

If you do get it back, I can upload the working files I'm using so you can dual boot if you want.

Hmm. It wont extract. Tells me "an attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file". No idea what it means lol.

WTF no idea neither...

I'll re upload it tonight in media fire, MU or whatever else.

Hope we won't have any more problems.
