Would somebody be so kind as to write a quick guide with the steps on how to downgrade the DS flashcart white list and TWL_FIRM to the lowest version possible on a New 3DS XL?
I've posted how to downgrade the whitelist a couple times. Basically just use 3DNUS to download the whitelist title with version 0, pack as a CIA (also ignore the old/new 3ds options). Then put it on the SD card, run FBI. Remove the currently installed whitelist and install the v0 one. Done.

And you shouldn't touch TWL_FIRM, especially on the N3DS as it uses a different version than the older 3DSes. At the very least it will brick DSi mode if you install the older ones and it won't unblock anything if you downgrade it to the lowest the N3DS can use.

I have been playing around with FalconPunch.py by mooglazer, and have added a couple things. Such as the ability to set the 3DS' IP in the program arguments, and the ability to set the CIA and IP through pop up dialogs (requires the easygui package to be installed). I eventually would like to redo the GUI aspects in tk, and add a few other features later on.

All can be found here:

Does this allow me to install legit cia files from cubic ninja and play them without emunand?

might want to truncate the filename that displays on the top screen. It really messed up badly here. It also doesn't show the MB anymore :(

Am I safe with an SD install on sysNAND? And can I backup carts as CIAs and install them to HOME menu? What happens to their save data?

-snip-
File names should be truncated now, and the MB display was removed to improve efficiency by only redrawing the display when the percentage changes.
ok, updates are labelled ok now (as 'patches')

but you don't label dlc (i think)

Can you check if DLC is properly labeled now?

Titles usually installed to NAND can be installed to SD?
if it's possible, what happen if you remove the SD after it's installed? it might crash the system. You better not lose, corrupt or format your SD card.
Destination shouldn't be automatically selected based on the Title's type, or is there any advantage to let the user choose?

Good point. Is must be an auto root find process on installing things

As far as I know, there is no magic indicator in the CIA telling whether it should go on the NAND or not. The way I see it, I'm happy to give people the freedom to install whatever to wherever, with the hope that they will use at their own risk.

EDIT: Also, I made some minor improvements to some networking code. Errors may be handled a bit better, and if you somehow get stuck on "Reading info...", its cancellable now.
