Smash replays have a checksum, that I haven't been able to solve. I do know that the magic number 0x5bd1e995 is involved somehow - which would make it a variation on MurmurHash - but not any of the details beyond that.

Once rxTools adds support for homebrew, this should automatically work with it out of the box. I'll likely come up with an updated version that takes advantage of the services Ninjhax can't provide, too.

extdata ≠ save data.

Extdata is Extra Data. (Miis, cached theme assets, playcoin info, spotpass stuff, etc)

SDF is for managing the actual save data for games. I've personally never used it but its main purpose is different than the extdata tool's.

SDF has 3 tabs. the first for the saves currently being used on your 3ds, so the one in the physical cart and the ones in your eshop games.
the second tab is for... EXTDATA :D
and the third shows saves that have been exported+decrypted with the program to your sd card.

i have dumped edited and restores extdata with sdf. if you can use it, just use that instead of this.
i guess because you say you have not used sdf, that this is why you don't know it... :)

if i made a mistake, please tell me. i asked a few times somewhere but i still don't think i got an answer - if we have sdf, do we need any extdata dumping homebrew tool? (and i am pretty sure the answer is no)
sdf does everything extdata tool does and a lot more.

Yeah, I've never used it nor have I seen any pictures of its interface. I can now see why people want a homebrew alternative to it. (Aside from the obvious "because it's illlegl guise")

Hi, I am new to this program and need a help:
I saw that there is a possibility to restore only certain of the date ext extracted with this program I would only restore the folder of the Pokemon battle videos DUH, and do not know which way I put here for the program correctly restore the folder however there are 75 bin files,is there any way to restore the entire folder instead not one by one .bin file at a time?

Ex:
; replace the Mii Maker banner image with the Face Raiders banner image (assuming you dumped it already)
RESTORE "dumps/0000021d/ExBanner/COMMON.bin" "00000217:/ExBanner/COMMON.bin"

@MrCheeze with all the progress that has been made in recent months, could this tool be updated to dump BOSS extdata? I know we can just decrypt the FAT16 partition and access the data that way, but I feel an update to your app would be a more convenient way of modifying this data.

I also seem to recall a number of empty folders after running this, is that a result of a limitation of the tool, or are those folders simply empty already?

If think you can just specify the folder path to restore the entire contents.

eg.
RESTORE "dumps/0000021d/"

SaveDataFiler supports User and Boss extdata, this tool supports User and Shared extdata. To tell you the truth, I have no idea how to add Boss support...
