Soooo I've been out of the loop for a while now. Last thing I remember was that Gateway came out with a cart that would play 3DS games but you can only have 1 game per micro SD card. Has that changed now? I put off getting anything till everything was greatly further ahead. I see there are a ton of carts out there now from different people. What one is the best one out now, what one supports multi game support with out changing microSD cards? Before you go into everything about having the correct firmware and such I have a 3DS XL Zelda edition that is still on 7.1.0-14U

Gateway is still the best. The features they offer can't be beat at this point in time.

Once you trigger gateway you just press select and the rom menu comes up.

The big trick is gateway only works up to firmware 9.2

You need to "activate" the gateway card to use it. Theres four different ways

Click ds profile button in the settings (firmware 4.1-4.5)
visit go.gateway-3ds.com or go.scmods.com in the internet browser (firmware 4.1-9.2)
Launch the qr code scanner on cubic ninja (n3ds only)
Click A inside of links hut in OoT (n3ds only)

You can downgrade your 3ds down to 4.5 if you like the ds profile button way the best

Gateway also said they are working in getting Cubic ninja and OoT methods working on old 3ds.

You can put as many roms as your micro sd card can hold on the red gateway card. Press select and the rom menu shows up. Here's a picture (click the spoilers tag)

They're way past the 1 game per microSD, they have a multi-rom support for a while now.

I currently have two DSTWO 2 in 1 and R4, they never needed an activation crap lol Why do you need to 'activate' the Gateway? Just saying you have to 'activate' means nothing if you don't go over the need and whats it used for lol I'm an old head.

Technically there is a limit. How much can you squeeze on a 128gb micro sd card?

If you just press select when you turn your 3ds on then nothing will happen. You need to do one of the four methods I mentioned then the select button will open the rom menu.

We know it's really weird.

Edit: I guess you could say you need to "activate" the dstwo. You need to launch it first

Why use the word 'activate' when your really 'launching' the app makes no sense to me lol. How big are the rom files I have over 200 NDS games on my 32GB microSD card lol 128GB is over kill

Because the gateway multi-rom menu appears on the 3ds homescreen (actually it appears in emunand which is a feature gateway offers)

If you want to be technical about it then gateway is not a flashcart. It's custom firmware. The red gateway card is a drm dongle. You don't need the red gateway card to even play the games. You need it inserted when you launch the custom firmware.
