This is pretty rockin. I unfortunately was pretty bummed when I realized both my 3ds XL and my old reg 3ds somehow are on 9.5.0-23, gah! No clue when I would have updated my old 3ds since I rarely use it, probably was half asleep or something...
Any chance of this working on that firmware version ever, though? If there is, I'll tape the wireless switch 'off' until then on my old 3ds just for that so I can get in on this.
Otherwise I'm totally gonna have to hunt down a 3ds that isn't updated, I guess. I am serious about my Animal Crossings, man.

Well I managed to go and edit my native fruit using HxD, so it is possible.

I however forgot to note down what I did and now, I am mad at myself. But my problem is fixed, my native fruit is now peaches instead of pears

(Now, I'll patiently wait for campsite villager injection, or something similar)

when ever i get a camper into my town i'll look into it (don't want to time travel my favorites out)

keeps freezing though and bricking my game... tried moving every building to land, but im not sure what causes the crash
They probably didn't plan on having island acres show up in the normal town. You should try making that layout without the island tiles and see what happens.

Holy cow, that's impressive. Town editing will definitely be easier when you're able to see everything like that.

Hopefully the solution to the bricking is found soon, that looks like it would be fun for people to do.

(I don't plan on making an entire island like that, just modifying my river and such.)

Oh man, I can't wait for map editing. Have you tried a standard map yet?
It might be bricking only because it's unsure what to do about your second island, so you might want to check both.
Question: Can we edit our grass patterns?

I'm an idiot.

I was looking for the hex codes for the trees when I was supposed to look for the hexcode for the FRUIT to determine native tree

NATIVE FRUIT IS MODIFIABLE AT 0X5C7B6

This is for the apple.

But yeah. I answered my own question from earlier. Now to test if you can make something like the lemon a native fruit, meaning all other fruit will be worth their weight in gold.

Will the game even load up? Can you fix it?

I just successfully got it to load. I now have basically what was in the picture minus the river. I think the freeze was from buildings being in spots they can't be. Though there is a bar that runs across the screen when on the beach/island, and it drastically cuts down on town space. 0/10

How do i edit the layout of my town?

it is actually, The data is at 0x4DA04-0x4DA57
2 bytes per acre, and in a 7x6 grid. only change the inner 5x4 blocks, the outer border shouldnt be messed with (unless maybe you're moving the waterfall). I've bricked my game messing with this before (luckly I restored it with action replay). I'm handing the properly numbered image files over to marc_max so he can implement it into the editor.

Again, I'm not responsible for anyone messing with this data before it's ready

Alright, here's how to inject campers,

First you need to already have a camper, this doesn't work if you don't have a camper camping.

Now after you have the camper, dump the ram and open it into a hex editor and go to 0x3F1C0
SoOO3jq.png

See the two bytes of "00 3C"? that's your camper. you want to change it to the camper you want. So if you wanted to have Marshal whose value is 013D, in the hex editor you would put 3D 01 in the two bytes for this case. For other villagers you don't have to. For example, stitches, he has an id of 003C. since he doesn't have a number in the first byte and its just 00, you don't reverse it. Now save the ram, but it in your sd and launch acnl and then go near the camp, then you inject and go into the camp and you'll see the requested camper

Here's a video of the injection happening!

My pier comes out to the island.
Injecting campers wont be needed. I sent marc_max a list with all of the villager's default clothes, furnature, and english catchphrase, so when modifying villagers, they can have their defaults. (Handy for modifying more than one at once). as for island shape editing, I think it's literally 4 chunks, (2x2) so there's almost no point, as there needs to be corners on all sides

pretty badass. I like what you've done with your ID card. I would be very interested in doing a similar thing for myself. Was it difficult?

I wrote up a list of features that would be a joy to have.

1. acres (river placement etc.) (I know it's currently a work in progress, but since we don't have it yet, it's going on the list)
2. bushes (still a ? for me)
3. partially grown trees (just for the hell of it)
4. fruit-bearing trees that are a few days between fruits
5. money trees
6. villager data (furniture, clothing, friendship levels, nicknames, etc.)
7. place any PWP anywhere (I know we have a PWP hack, but you still have to buy them and wait out the night/timetravel)
8. shop inventories and museum (downstairs and upstairs)
9. edit what games are available on the island
10. pattern edit (honestly, too complicated and not worth it since the game makes it easy enough)
11. force Gracie, Redd, Katrina, etc. to come to town
12. a way to know which rock is the money rock (maybe impossible? I dunno)
13. a BURY/UNBURY flag
14. and of course, in-home furniture edit (including editting which home expansions have been completed)
15. edit face, hair, clothes, tools in hand
16. edit mailbox and letters in pocket (clearing the mail is so much god damn work)
17. WRAPPED/UNWRAPPED presents flag (a lot of pointless busy-work to unwrap them all. This is why I hate mail.)

Personally, I suggest that you NOT implement a way for people to fuck over other people's towns (like putting rocks in pockets). 99.99% of AC players will never be able to fix such problems and it wouldn't be fair. it would also be unnecessary to allow.

One last thing. When I edit the map, I like that I can start at a specific item and click, down arrow, click, down arrow, right down a list of items over and over. But when I go to pockets and dressers, when I click, it takes the list out of focus, adding a munch of unnecessary clicking to my process. It's hard to explain.. Basically, the textbox loses focus when I click on a dresser or pocket slot, but not on a map slot, and it adds a considerable amount of work with mouse-moving.

I believe that those "seed" items don't show up in the inventory in this game, so no worries.
Also, AquaX101, you're bytes for camper injecting might be wrong, it should be the 00 after the 3C. the game would store 0148 as 48 01.

Any invalid items are automatically removed from the player's pockets, so seeding is impossible.
