Hacking Amiibo won't work gateway 3.1.0

Anybody else had this issue?

I've no idea if it's just my amiibo or whether it's the gateway or w/e.

Not a clue what could be causing it, but the amiibo doesn't work, it doesn't even look like it does anything?

Put the console in sleep mode and try it again. There have been so strange bugs...but doing this seems to fix it.

Wifi isn't required for amiibos.

I forgot that I re-formatted my emunand so my emunand is on 9.0 instead of 9.5, so that's probably the problem I'm having... Hahaha.

Updating again to test it.

on the n3ds wifi and nfc are controlled by the same on/off switch.

Am pretty new to this Amibo thing. I thought it was a toy just like Skylander, etc., and there would be like a game where you can unlock that particular Amibo character.

Nah it probably does work, I just forgot I formatted my emunand again and it went back to 9.0

I'm testing again now after updating to 9.5

I play a lot of smash, typically 2v2 with CPUs and amiibo on my team
I'm still waiting for a better use of amiibo but it's alright.

Your still in emunand if you go into system setting its just if you go back to the menu you will go back to sysnand.

gateway said two months ago that it wouldn't work but it's works

Yeah, exactly as you said (since I didn't have my wifi settings in) apart from the re-launching emunand...

Basically just:

1) boot into emunand
2) go into settings and go to wifi and set it up
3) go back from wifi (don't exit completely, just go back to the main settings page)
4) go into the other settings area and update away
5) enjoy your 9.5 emunand n3ds DDDD

You have to make sure emunand is enabled.

I've just played SSB on 3.1 9.5Emunand with Amiibo. It works then.
