Hi folks.
Just signed up here..I'm an old dude..50 plus..yikes. LOL Here is my situation. Hope for the Ninja out there that can make this simi painless.
I have had this wii for a few years..I bought it with the SD card and ran ALL of my games (bootlegged) with the Gamma 0.3 with the 002 fix...on the channel guide it shows as a bad azz fighter looks like he came from the movie 300...Well anyhow..to the point, grandkid took my SD card to copy never got it back..I'm trying to get this on my own, but so much has changed. So I have the channel I guess..just missing the card that lets me play my games. Hit me back with some help . I'm pretty literate with computers..level 6/7 on a scale of 10.
Throw me a bone.
Thanx.

..Oh BTW. I loaded Homebrew channel.

So you had a forwarder channel... I don't even remember how you set up those.
Wouldn't it be easier to just install any loader in the SD?, say gamma, usbloadergx, or whatever.
Just install it in the apps folder and run it from the HBC, it is one more step, bummer I know, but it is easy to pull out.

So, you do have an SD card lying around and Homebrew Channel is running?
If it is 2GB or less, better. But any card should do if your version of HBC is not too old.
Format it in FAT file system, and copy the apps folder from the ZIP link below to your SD card root.
LINK

Afterwards, the program should just appear in the list of application in your homebrew channel.

PS: Note to moderators, I believe the link I just posted is allowed, it is just a version of Configurable USB Loader. If it is not allowed, please just delete the link and let me know.
Just in case I summon Bortz to check if it is alright, please don't hate me.

There should be an apps folder.
Inside this apps folder, there should be an usbloader folder.
Inside the usbloader folder, there should be at least a boot.dol file (that is the app).

If you put all this in your SD card, let's suppose your SD card is E: you should get this structure:
Code:
E:
|__apps
      |___usbloader

With at least the boot.dol file inside the usbloader folder.
Is it ok?

Then, put the SD in your Wii and run the homebrew channel.
What do you see in the list of apps inside the homebrew channel?
You should see only one app if your SD has strictly that structure. Run that app.

You won't get any channel in your main menu. You have to run the Homebrew Channel:

And then, inside the homebrew channel you will get a list with only one app (following list is only illustrative, only something similar to the first app should appear)

Let me know what you see in that list.

Hey there..thank you for the response...I work on call a bunch so when I have to go I have to go.. : )
But anyhow, very informative. I'm looking at it now. Yes it has the boot.dol... But I just have boot.dol icon and meta.
and it dont seem to show up in homebrew channel when inserted in wii.
Thanx again.

Well, it should work. I don't really know what is going wrong in there.
Are you sure your SD card is formatted in FAT filesystem?
Is the folder structure in your SD exactly as explained in my previous post?

Could you perhaps post some pictures of:
  • The properties of the SD card (as seen in the file Explorer in Windows)
  • The file structure of the SD card (as seen in the windows Explorer tree)
  • Whatever appears in your screen when you run the Homebrew Channel (is there any app in there at all?)
I mean some screenshots like these examples:

whenever you want to add new homebrew, you can just drag the folder itself of the name of the homebrew (when you open it and see the the dol, the xml and the icon in it) and put it into the apps folder you just created.

well now I have something in homebrew. "configurable USB loader" "play from USB drive"
When I ran it it said error
it seems like you don't have games on a usb drive, are you trying to play burned copies of wii discs? if so, you don't want the usb loader, you want the NeoGamma app, that's made for discs, get it here http://filetrip.net/g25123270-Neogamma.html, download it "manual mode" when asked on the web page, you don't want the "automatic downloader".

unzip the whole zip to to your sd card, you should now have "Neogamma" folders in the root of your sd card, and inside of the apps folder.

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.
