You're making it seem like MK8 DLC 1 works without MK8, although you know what, that'd be an awesome idea that Nintendo could've gone with!

Heh, well having only 3 characters wouldn't even make sense for 4 player mode.
EDIT oh wait you can select the same character now for multiple players

+1 Mario Kart 8, how is this not an absolute essential?

Easy: this list goes by votes, not by hype level. It doesn't matter how many threads there are praising games like Bayonetta, smash bros or mario kart...if those people don't vote it in this thread, I won't be able to count it.

I know it's flawed, but no system is perfect. I can't drag people to this thread to vote for it. ;)

(I added that to the first post, though...as I can understand how strange the list looks right now)

+1 Mario Kart 8. Much better for me on the big screen especially in multiplayer. Liked it on Pro Controller much better than wiimote as well. I now understand drifting.
+ Epic Mickey 2. Vote from my two boys by proxy. Amazon had it delivered for $9 and the boys spent 3 hours last night with it and they didn't fight. The split screen helps I think.

Yep. Playing Mario Kart 8 with the Wii U Pro Controller is a soft relaxing breeze that the GamePad just doesn't deliver well.

+1 Art of Balance (puzzle) - solid remake of the great Wii puzzle title, better graphics, new modes, local multiplayer. It's all worth to try, there is a demo as well.
+1 Cloudberry Kingdom (platformer) - hardcore platforming for a genre fans. Must have if you like when a game kicks your ass.

+1 Wii Sports Club: Golf (sports) - a definite golf game on platform & ever, intuitive & innovative controls using both a Wii U Pad & Wii Remote Plus would not make you indifferent. Local & internet multiplayer adds a lot of fun. The best title in the Wii Sports Club series. You may also try Bowling & Baseball counterparts but me was not too addicted in its gameplay.

I forgot totally about this game in my list 1+ Resident Evil Revelations. Really good game.

I've gotta play this as I own it.

Right now I've been playing AC4 and instead of playing the main missions I prefer to do the side missions and find the collectibles as it's just so entertaining! My favourite part is to enter parts I'm not supposed to by swimming to each zone and sometimes gotta hold my breath underwater due to being shot. lol

It was definitely worth the £6!

+1 NintendoLand (great multiplayer, but not so fun if you play alone)
+1 Mario Kart 8 (more of the Mario Kart formula, love it or hate it. I like the franchise adn this one is very solid)
+1 The Wonderful 101 (bayonetta insane action combined with japanese Sentai references, if you like any of the two, you will like this)
+1 Smash Bros for WiiU (many people were waiting just for this game to buy a WiiU, that should say enough)
+1 Hyrule Warriors (INCREDIBLE game for a Zelda fan, filled with zelda fanservice and content for many hours of gameplay. Even if you don´t like Dinasty Warriors gameplay, but like the Zelda franchise, you will find something charming about this game)

Music and visuals. Couldn't be bothered to play it in its entirety as I got bothered of it pretty quickly due to being a DW reskinned.
