Assuming nothing broke, if you're a Brickway user, you'll *want* to get this update. Why have a security hole unpatched that you aren't using? Someone could make a web site that bricks your 3DS if you just browse to it.

To be honest, it's probably the Pokemon hacks that prompted this fix. Nintendo probably thought that with memchunkhax and firmlaunchhax fixed that there wasn't much use of the WebKit exploit, but they were clearly proven wrong.

I disagree. I think the catalyst for this patch was not the region free (still need to buy the game, in theory) or the pkhax (costs them nothing) or GBC rom injection (most games aren't even in the eShop and I doubt those that are are big sellers). I think the reason was because of the fact you could use this web browser exploit to make all the microtransactions in Pokemon Shuffle cost nothing. So they were losing real money. There's a million people with pokemon shuffle installed and that's a lot of lost revenue. I am extremely curious if the 'check in' function on shuffle will prompt the user to update. If so then I'd take it as confirmation of this theory.

Why did they keep it as 9.5 when there was already a release back in February for 9.5... Shouldn't it be 9.6?

So that everyone would blindly update to it thinking it's 9.5 and is safe.
Nintendo and there tricks lol.

But it does seem that sky3ds isn't block as people have reported it working but the browser is lock.
