Absolutely. It had great games (sonic adventure, crazy taxi, shenmue, ecco the dolphin, marvel vs capcom 2, Jett set radio) but didn't last long enough.

Not to mention the controller looked straight out of Star Trek :yay:

*Ahem* right, Splatoon. I honestly don't know what to think about it. Maybe if I were more into shooters I would be much more excited for it, and it's great to see a game that's ACTUALLY using the GamePad for something more or less worthwhile, but the game just seems so... shallow, if you catch my drift. It's just looking (in my opinion, so far) like the only REAL unique enjoyment that one would get out of the game is the online multiplayer, as the single/double player campaign (has it even been confirmed multiplayer yet?) is really just platforming and boss fights with the gimmicky paint mechanic shoe-horned in

Well sadly most shooter fans would never playbit due to its style. (Although it could be crap)

True. The studio behind this really is marketing to a strange audience... They've made a competitive online multiplayer shooter that's... family friendly... hm...

And the truly sad part is that it looks like a BLAST when you have people to play with! I dunno. Hopefully this will keep the kids that are playing T and M rated games in the correct age category (like... seriously. <10 year olds don't need to be playing GTA V and Halo...) :glare:

Well ive I'm correct kids have been play m shooters since doom and wolfeinstien

I'm so use to the button in the 'B' position being the 'main button' for menus and game functions, that it is always jarring when going to the wii u it is not. Sometimes the wii u 'B' button is actually the 'back' button.

I know this makes sense on the wii u because of the position of the R stick. But since the position of the R stick sucks, the whole experience is just annoying.

First world problems I know!
I'm the opposite since the two previous gens I was more of an Xbox gamer I've became attached to the button layout and even to this day I still get the X & Y wrong on the Nintendo controller because I keep getting mixed with the Xbox controller. lol

Splatoon's off my pre-order list but I might get it if it's on the bargain bin at some point, also, this game better have some sort of offline story mode because feeding off of online play may not work out all that well for a new IP such as this one.

Who nows I've seen many Nintendo wifi games (except stuff like Pokemon or kart) never have a large WiFi group to begin with(atleast compared to Xbox or psn)

True, true. Maybe a major IP like this is long overdue

Yeah, that's pretty much my sentiment

I have a different issue when it comes to the "Four Face Button" controller. On OUYA and Wii U, (A) is in the same spot but on OUYA it is the "no" button and on Wii U it's the "yes" button. Confusing sometimes lol

Yeah it is confusing as heck. Atleast PC gaming keyboards are much the same as the are qwerty.

Hmm never knew that! Makes me wonder

Yeah, like I said, it's mainly a Germanic thing. We English-speaking countries use "y" a lot, so it's placed where you can conveniently reach it from almost anywhere, but German-speakers use the "z" more frequently even than we use the "y", so it got swapped for them

Hmm I wonder if it is advantage for German players or not?

I doubt it, it's actually most likely more of an inconvenience. The only real benefit comes from typing (but you'd have to ask someone that's studied the German language more than myself, I suppose)

It's an alternative to QWERTY in German speaking countries as the letter Z is more frequently used than the letter Y. Further, in French speaking countries they have another layout called AZERTY, look it up. All of this has nothing to do with the topic at hand, of course. :)

That's right, I forgot about that! And yeeeeeah, it really is XD

Usually it means button remaping, so yeah it's quite a pain in the you-know-what whenever a game is not optimized for 'us'.
